Scientific research

As one of the leading scientific institutions researching Vietnamese Literature, from folklore to modernity, Han Nom, Literary Theory, Oriental Literature (China, India, Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia), Western Literature (European - American literature) and Art Studies, the Faculty of Literature focuses on in-depth research on theoretical and theoretical issues of literature, research on national literature, Han Nom, folklore, foreign literature, and art studies. Along with that, the Faculty of Literature has gradually promoted interdisciplinary research covering the fields of culture, art, and classical linguistics to gradually integrate with the international academic environment.
Up to now, the Faculty of Literature has published hundreds of textbooks, monographs, and reference books for training and research. Over the past 60 years, the Faculty has organized hundreds of scientific seminars at all levels from Department, School to national and international levels; conducted hundreds of scientific research topics at School, Ministry, National University and State levels. Some typical seminars and conferences include: International seminar "Approaching Vietnamese landscapes in a cross-cultural context" The proceedings of the seminar were published in 2023; National seminar "Vietnamese historical narrative - Interpreting the past and constructing identity"; Scientific seminar "100th anniversary of the birth of Professor, People's Teacher Le Dinh Ky"; Seminar on Reception of the Tale of Kieu in the South, Seminar on The trend of localizing theory in the literature research department of contemporary Chinese academia, Seminar on New perspectives of literary reception research from the Post-Marxist approach; Seminar on Improving the quality in building and operating the Han-Nom training program; Seminar on Assoc. Prof. Dr. poet Truong Dang Dung: the journey from interpretation to literary creation; Exchange with writer Jeam-Pierre Outers - Author of Passer Ausud (Traveling to the South)... The staff of the Faculty have been and are presiding over topics at the Hanoi National University, Ministry and State levels, publishing many articles in specialized scientific journals with domestic and international indexes.
