This afternoon, November 24, 2025, the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Hanoi, organized a ceremony to launch a campaign to support people in Central and Central Highlands regions in overcoming the severe damage caused by floods and heavy rains.
The program received enthusiastic support from all faculty, staff, and students of the university. Accordingly, each faculty member donated at least one day's salary. All the donated money will be combined with the Hanoi National University Trade Union's fund to directly support people in Central and Central Highlands regions who are severely affected by the prolonged heavy rains, causing widespread flooding and serious landslides.
The delegation, led by Director Hoang Minh Son, along with representatives from the Trade Union and several scientists, will visit and investigate the situation in the severely affected localities. The trip aims not only to encourage and share the difficulties with the people but also serves as a mission and responsibility for the scientists to conduct field surveys, update on developments related to disaster response, and subsequently propose long-term and sustainable scientific and technological solutions.

The Party Committee, the Board of Directors, the Trade Union Executive Committee, and all staff and lecturers of the university immediately responded to the program to support the people of Central and Central Highlands regions, joining in with the activities of Hanoi National University.

The Director expressed confidence that with its strong research capacity and high sense of social responsibility, Hanoi National University can make practical contributions to the nation in disaster risk reduction, not only this year but also for many years to come.
