30th Anniversary Celebration of the Faculty of International Studies: An Emotional Reunion

On October 24, 2025, at the International Conference Center (35 Hung Vuong Street, Hanoi), the Faculty of International Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, solemnly celebrated its 30th anniversary (October 21, 1995 - October 21, 2025).
The ceremony took place in a joyful and solemn atmosphere, with the participation of numerous generations of lecturers, staff, alumni, students, and researchers.
The celebration was honored to welcome Prof. Dr. Vu Minh Giang (former Vice Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Thanh Nam (Party Secretary, Chairman of the University Council of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities), faculty members who are leaders of departments and specialized units within the university; representatives of international organizations, training and research partners, and former leaders of the Faculty from various periods such as Prof. People's Teacher Vu Duong Ninh, Dr. Meritorious Teacher Le The Que, Prof. Dr. Hoang Khac Nam, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Xuan Khang, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hoa. Representing the current Faculty of International Studies, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thien Thanh (Party Secretary, Head of the Faculty) along with faculty members from the Party Committee and the Faculty Management Board also attended in full, sharing the joy and pride with the guests.
Dr. Le The Que, former head of the Department of International Studies, delivered a speech at the ceremony.

The anniversary celebration marks a significant milestone for the Faculty of International Studies to reflect on its 30-year journey of sustainable development – ​​from its early days laying the foundation for a new, pioneering field of study in Vietnam. Over three decades, the Faculty has continuously expanded its scale and improved the quality of its training at all three levels: bachelor's, master's, and doctoral. The Faculty has fulfilled its mission of connecting Vietnamese knowledge with the world, while nurturing generations of students who are not only professionally competent but also possess a sense of responsibility and the qualities of global citizens.
During the ceremony, delegates reviewed the outstanding achievements and honored the generations of teachers, staff, and students who have contributed to the development of the Faculty. It was also an opportunity to share visions, directions, and aspirations for the next phase, aiming to build the Faculty of International Studies into a leading and prestigious center for international training, research, and cooperation in Vietnam and the region.
The 30th anniversary celebration of the Faculty of International Studies concluded successfully in a warm and emotional atmosphere, opening a new chapter with many opportunities, challenges, and great aspirations, contributing to the overall development of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
Professor Vu Duong Ninh, the first head of the Faculty of International Studies, delivered a speech at the anniversary ceremony.
The heads of departments and faculties attended the ceremony.
The ceremony was honored to welcome scientists and leaders from the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences.
