To promote educational cooperation between Vietnam and the Russian Federation to a new level worthy of the potential and aspirations of both sides, Deputy Minister Hoang Minh Son and the delegation from the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam are on a working visit to the Russian Federation from April 15 to 20, 2024. During the visit, Deputy Minister Hoang Minh Son and the delegation held a working meeting with Mr. Moglilevskii K.I., Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, visited several higher education institutions in the Russian Federation, and attended the 2nd Vietnam-Russia University Rectors Forum.
2024 marks the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on the Basic Principles of Friendly Relations between Vietnam and the Russian Federation (1994-2024). Russia and Vietnam have bilateral cooperation in various fields, with education and training being a priority area. Currently, there are more than 100 cooperation agreements between universities in Vietnam and the Russian Federation. Higher education institutions in both countries have implemented numerous collaborative research activities, academic exchanges, joint organization of conferences and seminars, and student and faculty exchanges. The fields with the most cooperation are all areas of strength for the Russian Federation that are of interest to Vietnam.
According to the cooperation agreement on education signed between the two countries, Vietnam allocates 75 scholarships annually for Russian citizens to study and practice Vietnamese in Vietnam. Furthermore, in the last five years, Russia has granted Vietnam 1000 scholarships each year, and for the 2024-2025 academic year, Russia will continue to provide 1000 scholarships for Vietnamese citizens to study and conduct research.
Also on April 16th and 17th, the delegation from the Ministry of Education and Training visited and worked with several higher education institutions in the Russian Federation, including: the Higher School of Economics, the Moscow National Research Aviation University, the Russian Peoples' Friendship University, and the N1 Pirogov National Research Medical University,...
Within the framework of bilateral meetings, Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) represented the University's leadership in signing cooperation agreements with leading universities in Russia. Both sides committed to promoting the implementation of various collaborative research activities, academic exchanges, joint organization of conferences and seminars, student and faculty exchanges, and scholarship programs.
