Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Ha Sy Huan, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Bac Kan province, said that Bac Kan ranks third nationwide in the development of OCOP products with 218 products. The province has identified the policy of developing strong products in conjunction with sustainable socio-economic development.
Bac Kan has a great advantage with its cultural and historical tourism resources, located within the ATK (Revolutionary Base Area) historical site which is currently receiving investment for development. In addition, the province has invested in transportation infrastructure, connecting Bac Kan with many other provinces and cities, contributing to the favorable conditions for local tourism.
Mr. Ha Sy Huan shared his hope that scientists from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, would cooperate with the province in researching and formulating strategies for developing strong tourism products, such as ecotourism, community tourism, cultural tourism, and tourism associated with the development of local agricultural resources.

Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, shared that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, is a leading university in research and training in the field of social sciences and humanities. The university has many strengths in basic scientific research and interdisciplinary research development with practical values, directly serving the development of localities and the country.
The university's team of 400 scientists is contributing alongside local authorities, organizations, and businesses in research, consulting, and developing specific applied products, including sustainable tourism products linked to the strengths of local areas in culture, history, and agriculture. The joint efforts of the scientists and the cooperative relationship between the university and local authorities are expected to bring significant value to the development of Bac Kan province's strengths in the future.
During the meeting, leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, representatives from localities and functional units of Bac Kan province exchanged views on the difficulties and advantages in promoting the cultural, historical, and natural values of the locality to serve the socio-economic development of the locality. They emphasized that the locality hopes to receive support from scientists of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi in training high-quality human resources for tourism services; collaborate in research and development of development orientations and plans to promote and promote local cultural values in tourism development; and exploit and promote the value of local cultural and historical heritage.

Mr. Trieu Huy Chung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Cho Don District, shared the difficulties and essential needs of the locality in developing eco-tourism, community tourism, and cultural and historical tourism.
Mr. Nong Ngoc Duyen, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairman of the Ba Be District People's Committee, proposed several areas of cooperation between Ba Be District and scientists from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
Scientists from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, shared numerous initiatives in communicating and promoting the brands of local specialty products; geographical indications and intellectual property protection for OCOP products; proposing a policy framework for developing the "five stakeholders" relationship (State - enterprises - farmers - scientists - banks); building criteria for evaluating the technological capacity of local units; providing high-quality human resources in the fields of tourism, culture, and history; forming science and technology enterprises in Bac Kan province; and developing policies on the development of unique tourism associated with local nature and culture.
"Local sustainable development" has been identified by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and relevant agencies of Bac Kan province as the key term and common goal in their cooperative relationship, aiming to leverage the strengths of both units in the future.
