Vice Rector Hoang Anh Tuan shared the following information: Currently, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, is the university with the largest number of majors/specializations in social sciences and humanities in the country, with 25 undergraduate majors (34 standard and high-quality training programs), 42 master's programs, and 31 doctoral programs.
For the 2019 admissions season, the university is accepting 1,950 students across 28 majors and training programs, including one new major.Japanese StudiesAlong with 03 high-quality training programs (tuition fees commensurate with training quality) that comply with Circular 23/2014-TT-BGDĐT of the Ministry of Education and Training, including:Journalism, Management Science, and Information Management.
Besides the admission method based on the 2019 National High School Graduation Examination results, the School also prioritizes allocating a certain percentage of its quotas to students with SAT scores, A-Level certificates, IELTS certificates, students from specialized high schools, national outstanding students, etc. (please refer to the specific instructions on the School's admissions website).

This year, for the first time, the University is enrolling students in three high-quality training programs (tuition fees commensurate with the quality of training) that meet the requirements of Circular 23/2014-TT-BGDĐT of the Ministry of Education and Training. These programs are Journalism, Management Science, and Information Management. These programs will be offered and taught concurrently with the standard training program. Compared to the standard training program, students enrolled in the aforementioned high-quality training programs will receive the following advantages:

Regarding learning conditions:Students in the high-quality program are given priority access to advanced facilities such as: small class sizes (25-30 students/class); a friendly and modern learning environment; classrooms that meet multimedia teaching requirements and are equipped with modern teaching equipment…
Regarding the organization of training:Increased investment in foreign languages to enhance international integration and participation in overseas labor markets, thereby increasing opportunities for high-quality jobs; Teaching/guidance by reputable lecturers from both within and outside the country, with many subjects in the program taught in foreign languages by foreign lecturers; Regular academic counseling and support from experienced academic advisors…

Showing interest in basic sciences, many candidates wanted more information about the support the University provides to students in basic science fields such as History, Philosophy, Literature, etc. To provide more information and reassure candidates in choosing their preferred major, Vice Rector Hoang Anh Tuan stated:
Since 2012, the university has focused its investment on seven basic science disciplines, including:Political Science, History, Anthropology, Philosophy, Literature, Sino-Vietnamese Studies, and Vietnamese Studies, including priorities for students:
- Continue to allocate funds to support the studies of students with good, excellent, and outstanding academic results in the above-mentioned majors, and at the same time create opportunities for students to participate in skills training and foreign language courses organized by the University;
- Increase funding by 50% to 100% (depending on the training program) to directly invest in students: scholarships for scientific development; implementing outstanding scientific research projects so that instructors and students have the opportunity to pursue their passion for science;
- Priority will be given to scholarships outside the state budget; priority will also be given when considering internships/practical training abroad; and participation in English language training courses taught by foreign lecturers at the school will be free of charge.
- Tuition fees will continue to be waived for certain basic science majors, namely Ho Chi Minh Studies (part of Political Science), History of the Communist Party of Vietnam (part of History), Scientific Socialism, and Dialectical Materialism and Historical Materialism (part of Philosophy). These four majors will have 100% tuition fee exemption for all subjects within their specialized knowledge areas.

One candidate asked a question:I saw the admissions information for the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and noticed that after the first year, students can pursue a second major. Could you specify which majors are available and what are the admission requirements?
Addressing this concern, the Vice Rector stated that this is also a concern for many candidates when applying for admission to the University as well as to other training units within the Vietnam National University, Hanoi. It can be said that the "second degree program" training model is one of the highlights and a major advantage for students studying at the Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

Currently, after completing their first year, full-time students at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities have the opportunity to pursue a second major in one of the following fields:
- Within the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, including: Journalism, Oriental Studies (specializing in Korean Studies), Management Science, Tourism and Travel Service Management, International Studies, and Office Management.since 2019.
- For the University of Foreign Languages: English Language, Korean Language, Japanese Language, Chinese Language.
- For the Faculty of Law (Vietnam National University, Hanoi): Law major.
Students who complete the training program in both majors will receive two official bachelor's degrees.
According to current regulations of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, students who have completed their first year and have a GPA of 2.0 or higher (on a 4-point scale) are eligible to enroll in a second degree program. To graduate from the second program, students must have completed their first degree program.

Showing interest in scholarship opportunities, one applicant asked:This year I plan to apply to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. I would like to ask if the university offers many scholarships or financial aid programs for students during their studies?
Providing information to candidates, Vice Rector Hoang Anh Tuan said: Currently, during their studies at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, students have the opportunity to receive many different scholarships and support sources, including scholarships from the State budget of approximately 3 billion VND/year, and scholarships from non-budgetary sources from agencies, organizations, businesses and partners of the University of about 1.5 billion VND/year.
In addition, each year approximately 500 students across various majors are granted tuition fee waivers and hardship allowances, over 400 students participate in exchange programs and practical internships at partner universities abroad, and nearly 500 students receive free international English communication classes taught directly by foreign lecturers at the university.
In addition to the questions posed to the Advisory Board during the online consultation session, candidates also sent hundreds of questions to the Admissions Board through the University's admissions Fanpage.
