I. 2019 UNIVERSITY ADMISSION INFORMATION OF UNIVERSITY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES AND HUMANITIES
1. Information of the admission unit
2. Recruitment area:Recruitment nationwide.
3. Admission method:
Admission based on national high school exam results according to the combination of subjects/exams announced by the School. Admission scores are determined according to each combination of exams/exams for admission.
Candidates can register for admission (DKXT) with an unlimited number of wishes, schools/faculties and must arrange their wishes in order of priority from high to low (wish 1 is the highest wish). However, each candidate can only be admitted to one highest priority wish in the list of registered wishes.
The admission score is the total score of the exams/subjects on a 10-point scale for each exam/subject of each admission group plus priority points for subjects and regions (if any).
4. Basic information specified in the School's enrollment plan:
4.1 Registration time:Candidates using the results of the national high school exam submit their application for admission together with their application for the high school exam according to the admission plan of the Ministry of Education and Training.
4.2 Priority admission policy (limited quota)
a)Direct admission of candidates participating in the national team selection exam for the International Olympic competition, in the national team for the International Science and Technology Competition who have graduated from high school; candidates winning first, second, and third prizes in the national excellent student selection exam and the national Science and Technology Competition who have graduated from high school.
b)Direct admission of specialized students of specialized high schools under Hanoi National University and some specialized high schools allocated direct admission quotas by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) based on approval of Hanoi National University.
c)Direct admission for candidates with Cambridge International Examinations (A-Level) certificates; IELTS English certificates from 5.5 or higher or equivalent international English certificates; SAT standardized test results certificate (Scholastic Assessment Test, USA) meeting the regulations of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
d)Direct admission is given to candidates with permanent residence for 3 years or more, who have studied for 3 years and graduated from high school in poor districts (ethnic boarding high school students are calculated based on permanent residence), as of the date of application for admission according to the provisions of Resolution No. 30a/2008/NQ-CP dated December 27, 2008 of the Government on the Program to support rapid and sustainable poverty reduction for 61 poor districts and Decision No. 293/QD-TTg dated February 5, 2013 of the Prime Minister on targeted support from the central budget for 23 districts with high poverty rates that are subject to infrastructure investment mechanisms and policies according to the provisions of Resolution No. 30a/2008/NQ-CP on the Program to support rapid and sustainable poverty reduction for 61 poor districts; Candidates are ethnic minorities according to current regulations of the Prime Minister and candidates from 20 poor border and island districts in the Southwest region.
e)Direct admission for candidates with severe disabilities who have a certificate of disability issued by a competent authority as prescribed and have graduated from high school (The school does not have a training program specifically for candidates with visual or hearing impairments).
g)Priority is given to candidates who won first, second, and third prizes in the national excellent student selection exam; won first, second, and third prizes in the national science and technology competition and have graduated from high school, and have the results of the combination of high school exams/subjects used to register for admission that meet the input quality assurance criteria prescribed by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

5. Other information (if any):
- Oriental Studies students:From 2019, the Oriental Studies Department will only include 4 majors: Indian Studies, Korean Studies, Thai Studies and Chinese Studies. After the first semester, the Oriental Studies Department will divide the majors for first-year students based on their wishes and academic results in the first semester.
- High quality training program:After being admitted and enrolled, candidates have the opportunity to be directly admitted and considered for admission to high-quality training programs in the fields of Management Science, History, Linguistics, Psychology, Philosophy and Literature if they meet the requirements set by the School. Graduates receive a high-quality bachelor's degree.
- Training two training programs at the same time (dual degree):
After completing the first year, full-time students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities have the opportunity to study a second major in one of the following majors:
- Journalism, Oriental Studies (Korean Studies major), Management Science, Tourism and Travel Services Management, Office Management (expected), International Studies and Psychology of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
- English Language Department, Korean Language Department, Japanese Language Department, Chinese Language Department of University of Foreign Languages.
- Faculty of Law, Hanoi National University.
Students who complete the training programs of both majors will receive two regular bachelor's degrees.
- Foreign language regulations:
- Students of the following majors are required to accumulate credits in English courses (part of the general knowledge block in the training program) to meet the conditions to continue studying specialized English:International Studies, Tourism and Travel Services Management, Hotel Management, Information Management, Vietnam Studies.
- Students majoring in Han Nom are required to learn a foreign language (part of the general knowledge in the training program), which is Chinese.
