University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU Hanoi

This is a significant academic event, not only to showcase a representative research work but also to commemorate and pay tribute to one of the great historians of modern Vietnam – a figure respectfully remembered by generations of students and colleagues as one of the "four pillars" of Vietnamese historiography, along with Professor Phan Huy Le, Professor Ha Van Tan, and Professor Tran Quoc Vuong.

2025 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Professor Dinh Xuan Lam, one of the four historians honored as the "Legendary Four Pillars" of contemporary Vietnamese historiography. For generations of students, Professor Dinh Xuan Lam will forever remain a leading scientist and an exemplary teacher.

(Lao Dong Newspaper) Professor Dinh Xuan Lam, a People's Teacher, is often known as one of the "four pillars" of modern Vietnamese historiography (along with Professor Phan Huy Le, Professor Ha Van Tan, and Professor Tran Quoc Vuong), contributing to shaping the revolutionary historiography of independent Vietnam.

These were the sentiments and dedication that representatives of the Dinh Xuan Lam History Award Fund conveyed to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Hanoi in particular, and to scientists, lecturers, students, trainees, and researchers in the field of History at major universities in Vietnam during the working session on May 8, 2023.
