University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU Hanoi

Sponsored by the Japan Foundation under the program “Partnership to co-create a future with the next generation: WA Project 2.0”, from July 24th to August 9th, 2025, two Japanese Studies students, Phuong Quynh Giang and Doan Vo Truong Giang (K66), had the valuable opportunity to participate in Kyoto University's Kyoto Summer Program 2025.

The training program in Japan for postgraduate students and researchers in Japanese Studies, Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, held in mid-February 2025, was not only an opportunity for students and researchers to expand their academic knowledge but also a chance to promote research cooperation between the Department of Japanese Studies and partner universities and many leading research centers in Japan.

On June 21, 2023, the Master's Program in Japanese Studies and the Doctoral Program in Japanese Studies of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU-USSH) were officially approved by Vietnam National University, Hanoi. And in the second round of postgraduate admissions in 2023 at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, you can apply to become the first graduate and doctoral students of the USSH Japanese Studies program.

Adapting to the context of the Covid-19 pandemic and in response to the university's policy of technologizing teaching and learning activities, students of the Japanese Studies Department, Faculty of Oriental Studies, actively participated in online exchanges with partner universities in Japan. On November 27, 2020, two groups of student representatives from different cohorts of the Japanese Studies program participated in online exchanges with students from Senshu University, Ishinomaki Senshu University, and Kyoto Sangyo University.
