Summer School in Global Politics

Summer School Program on Global Politics in Vietnam 2014, theme: "Regional Economic Cooperation: Challenges and Opportunities for Europe and Asia". Time: from 8 to 20/9/2014.

The program is jointly organized by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH), Vietnam National University, Hanoi; the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP), and the Center for Global Politics (CGP) – Free University of Berlin.

COURSE CONTENT

The course will provide participants with an insight into regional challenges and cooperation models in Europe and Southeast Asia. The increasingly important role of transnational organizations, such as the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) or the European Union (EU), will be discussed and analyzed within the framework of different theoretical frameworks. In particular, the course will focus on the challenges and opportunities of current and future economic cooperation mechanisms. In order to provide a forum for international dialogue, the Vietnam Summer School 2014 will invite scholars and students from Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, Germany and a number of other countries to participate in discussions and exchange ideas and perspectives.

CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

About level:

  • Have sufficient understanding and interest in global political issues
  • Be a final year undergraduate student or a graduate student majoring in Political Science or related fields

The profile includes:

TUITION:

Students will not have to pay tuition fees when participating in the program. Students will be responsible for their own travel, accommodation and living expenses. A support fund will be provided for students from Cambodia, Myanmar, Vietnam (in case they live outside Hanoi) to travel from Cambodia, Myanmar and cities outside Hanoi to Hanoi, Vietnam.
