Special exhibition: “Dien Bien Phu - A Historical Rendezvous”

The glorious victory of Dien Bien Phu, which shook the world, has gone down in the history of the nation as a Bach Dang, a Chi Lang, or a Dong Da in the 20th century, and into world history as a brilliant achievement, a breakthrough against the stronghold of the colonial system of imperialism. To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2014), the Museum of Anthropology, the Department of Archival Studies and Office Management (University of Social Sciences and Humanities), the Vietnam Youth Museum (under the Central Youth Union), and the Archives Department of the Central Party Office are jointly organizing a thematic exhibition entitled "Dien Bien Phu - A Historical Rendezvous".

The exhibits include:5 main parts:

Part 1. Dien Bien Phu - Strategic Geopolitical Location.

Part 2. Dien Bien Phu - The Strategic Decisive Battle.

Part 3. Vo Nguyen Giap - The Legendary General.

Part 4. The aspirations of young people to build the nation.

Part 5. Research on the Dien Bien Phu Victory and General Vo Nguyen Giap.

With over 400 representative historical photos and documents on display, the exhibition contributes to meeting the learning needs of officials, students, youth union members, and the general public in Hanoi regarding the correct and wise leadership and the skillful and creative political and military guidance of the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, and the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; the life and career of General Vo Nguyen Giap; the significance and value of the historic Dien Bien Phu victory; and the great contributions of all strata of the Vietnamese people and youth.

With the above content and significance, the exhibition is a tribute to previous generations, contributing to reviving, affirming, and further enhancing the patriotic tradition, revolutionary spirit, and responsibility of the younger generation in the cause of building and protecting the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland today.

The exhibition opening ceremony took place at 2 PM on May 5, 2014, at the stage in the flower garden area connecting building AB.University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, 336 Nguyen Trai Street, Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi.

The thematic exhibition took place from May 5th to 18th, 2014 at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi and Thang Long University.

The organizing committee cordially invites all professors, researchers, graduate students, postgraduate students, and undergraduate students to attend the opening ceremony and visit the exhibition.
