Special exhibition: "Dien Bien Phu - Historical rendezvous"

The Dien Bien Phu victory, famous in five continents and shaking the world, “has gone down in national history like a Bach Dang, a Chi Lang, or a Dong Da in the 20th century and entered world history as a brilliant feat, breaking through the stronghold of the colonial slavery system of imperialism”. To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2014), the Museum of Anthropology, the Department of Archives and Office Management (University of Social Sciences and Humanities), the Vietnam Youth Museum (under the Central Youth Union), and the Central Party Office Archives Department jointly organized the thematic exhibition “Dien Bien Phu - A historical rendezvous”.

Exhibition content includes5 major parts:

Part 1. Dien Bien Phu - Strategic geopolitical location.

Part 2. Dien Bien Phu - The decisive strategic battle.

Part 3. Vo Nguyen Giap - Legendary General.

Part 4. Youth's aspiration to build the country.

Part 5. Research work on Dien Bien Phu Victory and General Vo Nguyen Giap.

With more than 400 typical historical photos and documents displayed and introduced, the content of the Exhibition contributes to meeting the learning needs of cadres, students, union members, youth and the masses in Hanoi about the correct, wise leadership and the skillful, creative political and military direction of the Party, Uncle Ho and the General Command of the Vietnam People's Army; about the life and career of General Vo Nguyen Giap; about the significance and value of the historic Dien Bien Phu victory and the great contributions of the people and youth of Vietnam.

With the above contents and meanings, the exhibition is a tribute to previous generations, contributing to arousing, affirming and further enhancing the tradition of patriotism, revolutionary spirit as well as the responsibility of the young generation in the cause of building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland today.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition will take place at 2:00 p.m. on May 5, 2014 at the stage in the AB flower garden area.University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, 336 Nguyen Trai, Thanh Xuan, Hanoi.

The thematic exhibition took place from May 5 to 18, 2014 at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi and Thang Long University.

The Organizing Committee respectfully invites teachers, researchers, postgraduates, graduate students, students, etc. to attend the opening ceremony and visit the exhibition.
