Although Nguyen Thuy Chi was paralyzed in both arms and legs since childhood, she still tried her best to go to school and graduated from high school with good grades. And not stopping there, Chi continued to register for the entrance exam to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Before the first exam day, ussh.edu.vn had a meeting and recorded Thuy Chi's story.
My name is Nguyen Thuy Chi, I am 20 years old this year. I just graduated from high school in the 2009-2010 school year. I come from Lao Cai city, people often say that Lao Cai city is where the Red River flows into Vietnam. Currently, I am living with my grandparents and father. My grandparents are both old, my grandfather is 87 years old, my grandmother is 85. My father also has many serious illnesses. I myself am not lucky, I was born with a disability and when I grew up I still could not take care of myself. I have to rely on my grandparents for almost all my daily activities. In addition, I also receive a lot of help from my uncles in my daily life and especially in my studies. My uncles are all in the education sector, so I myself also have a sense of importance and am more determined in studying. I started school at the age of 8, which is 2 years later than my peers. During primary school, my grandfather often took me to school. Since I was in secondary school, the school was no longer near our house and my grandfather's health had declined a lot, so my friends helped me get to class.
Regarding Literature, Thuy Chi shows her passion not only in studying but also in the poems she writes herself. In addition, for many years Thuy Chi has been a member of the Young Reporters Club of the Voice of Vietnam Radio and has had many works published in Lao Cai Newspaper, Van Nghe Newspaper,...
When I entered first grade, everything was very new to me. At first, because I couldn't write like my friends, I easily forgot my lessons. Then I tried to practice writing, although my posture was very difficult, so I finally learned to read by the end of the first semester. When I went to higher grades, because I couldn't write fast enough, I had to ask my friends to copy my lessons. To be quick and save time, my friends often used carbon paper. In class, although teachers and friends helped a lot, I almost had to skip practical subjects because the practice rooms were all located on the upper floors. As for extracurricular activities, thanks to the help of teachers and friends, I was still able to participate regularly, such as flag salutes, ceremonies, anniversaries such as November 20, March 26, etc. Each subject has its own interesting things, but since middle school, I have loved Literature. My teacher often mentions Gorky's saying "Literature is anthropology", learning literature is also learning to be human. As for me personally, literature is like a colorful picture of life, making my soul brighter.

I love both romantic literature and critical realism literature. In the literature program, I am very interested in two works by Nam Cao, "Chi Pheo" and "Doi Thua", and a work by Nguyen Khai that has just been included in the program, "A Hanoian". As for poetry, I really like the New poems, but the work that impressed me the most is "Tieng hat con tau" by Che Lan Vien. Regarding exams, during my high school years, teachers always created conditions for me to take the tests in the most convenient way while still ensuring fairness and objectivity. I was given exams in different forms such as multiple choice, or oral exams, or sometimes doing homework at home on the computer and sending the test to teachers via email. In the recent university entrance exam at school, teachers also created conditions for me to test myself. In this exam, teachers asked the lower-grade students to copy my words into the exam. Up to now, I have always had the dream of going to university. Because I know that in reality, not many people with the same situation as me can go to university. When I expressed this wish to my family, at first, my grandparents and uncles were very worried, because they did not know that I would be able to take the exam and do the test. And if I passed the exam, they did not know who in the family could help and follow me throughout my university studies. Currently, my uncles and cousins all live in Lao Cai... I like both Literature and Journalism. I have been active in the Young Reporters Club of the Voice of Vietnam for many years, I have had some works, especially poems, published in Lao Cai newspaper, Van Nghe newspaper, Tuoi Hoa newspaper,... But when I reconsidered my situation, I found that journalism was not really suitable. That is why I decided to choose Literature - University of Social Sciences and Humanities. By studying this major, I feel that I can fulfill my dream of becoming a literary researcher or even an editor.

At this point, like many other candidates, I am also very nervous. But I also hope that I can do the test because this is also an opportunity for me to evaluate myself after 12 years of studying. If I can go to university, I know that it will be an opportunity to be more proactive in my life as well as do many useful things for the community.
In order to create conditions for candidate Nguyen Thuy Chi (registration number 00413) to take her exam in the best conditions, the Admissions Council of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has transferred her from exam room 0012 at the Trung Hoa Secondary School exam site to a new exam room (reserved for this candidate) at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities exam site. The exam invigilation is carried out as follows: - The exam site randomly draws exam invigilators according to the issued procedure. - The exam invigilators assigned to invigilate in this room are assigned specific tasks by the Head of the exam site: Second exam invigilator: Responsible for copying the exam content for the candidate; First exam invigilator: Responsible for supervising the copying of the exam by the second exam invigilator. In addition, the school also arranges a third invigilator to use a camera to record all activities in the room. The video tapes will be sealed separately immediately after each exam session.
