The Department of Oriental Studies (University of Social Sciences and Humanities) and the Institute of Literary Translation (Ministry of Culture, Information and Communication of Korea) are jointly organizing the 5th Korean Literature Appreciation Writing Contest.
Contestants
All undergraduate and graduate students currently studying at 12 Korean language and Korean studies schools nationwide.
Competition format
Candidates should write a reflection on the short story "Before the Manse Movement" by Yom Sang Seop, translated by Le Dang Hoan (references can be found at the Documentation Rooms of the departments/faculties offering Korean language and Korean studies programs).
Contest rules
- Only essay submissions will be accepted.
- Entries must be typed on A4 paper, font size 14, single line, 6-10 pages (note: do not include personal information in the entry).
- Each contestant may submit only one entry, and it must be an original piece of writing that has not been previously published in newspapers or other mass media.

- Candidates in Hanoi can register for the exam on Wednesday and Friday mornings; and Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at the Korean Documentation Room – Room 402, 4th floor, Building C, University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

- Deadline for registration and submission of entries via email: June 5, 2010
