The meeting took place in an exciting and open atmosphere. Speaking at the meeting, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim (USSH’s Vice Rector) made general comments about the situation of Laotian students studying at USSH.
He appreciated the Laotian students’ efforts in studying and integrating with other foreign students, especially Vietnamese students in academic and extra-curricular activities. The Vice Rector stressed: “The majority of the Laotian students, who are studying at our University, are excellent and exemplary and they abide well by the rules and the regulations set by VNU and USSH. They have contributed to USSH’s overall achievements as well as consolidated and further enhanced the Laos-Vietnam friendly and cooperative relations”

Following the Vice Rector’s words, Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu (Director of Student Affairs) described the difficulties faced by Lao students in integrating into USSH’s academic environment, with the greatest obstacle being age gap. However, Laotian students are always prioritized and taken care of by USSH as it creates all the adequate and timely conditions for better procedures and policies. Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu added that despite their difficulties, the Laotian students always try to accumulate and improve their knowledge. He congratulated their integrative efforts not only in academic performance but also in artistic and sporting activities.
Mr. Vilayvong Bouddakham (Member of the Central Executive Committee - First Secretary of the Lao Central Youth Union) also expressed he was delighted to visit and work in Vietnam this time and gave sincere thanks to the University's reception. He also believed the Laos-Vietnam friendly and cooperative relations will be further strengthened, developed and deepened.
At the end of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim once again confirmed: “I hope the Member of the Central Executive Committee – the First Secretary of the Central Union and his comrades will create more conditions for your students. Should you send your undergraduates, graduates and researchers to USSH, we will do our best to cooperate with you and the Embassy of Laos to Vietnam to help them. We shall work together to contribute to our bilateral cooperation as well as the Vietnam – Laos relations.”
