History
The Faculty of Management Science was established at the time of the Hanoi University of Literature (according to the Decision no 45 signed by President Ho Chi Minh dated October 10th, 1945). The Faculty is tasked with providing in-depth research on management science and training human resources for the sake of national construction and development.
In 1995, the Faculty's predecessor, the undergraduate major of Social Management was founded at the Faculty of Philosophy.
In 1999, the graduate major of Science and Technology Management on Intellectual Ownership officially admitted students.
On September 30th, 2002, the VNU's Director signed Decision 652/TCCB to found the Division of Management Science under USSH, by combining the Division of Social Management (Faculty of Philosophy) and Division of Scientific Thinking (Faculty of Sociology).
On August 11th, 2006, the VNU's Director signed Decision no 782/QĐ-TCCB to launch the Faculty of Management Sciencetasked with providing undergraduate and graduate training and research in the fields of management science: science and technology management, human resources management, social policy, intellectual ownership, public administrative management and public administration.

Prominent achievements
By 2013 the Faculty had provided training at bachelor's, master's and doctoral levels.
The first in the entire nation that offers both master's and doctoral programs in Science and Technology Management.
The only in Vietnam that provides the bachelor's minor of Intellectual Ownership.
In 2011-2017, the Faculty completed 05 research projects at State level, 01 at Protocol level, 02 at provincial level, and published 02 books to be distributed to 500 members of the 13th and 14th Vietnam National Assemblies.
Development orientation
Provide undergraduate and graduate training in management science: science and technology management, human resources management, social policy, intellectual ownership, public administrative management and public administration.
Diversify research orientations, promote research projects in the field of Management science including international publications.
Promote courses taught in English by the Faculty's lecturers.
Attract more international students.
Support the students' job hunting and start-up spirit.
