- Purpose of the thesis: Based on the analysis of some theoretical issues on ecological ethics education for students, the thesis researches and evaluates the current status of ecological ethics education for university students in Ho Chi Minh City and proposes some solutions to improve the effectiveness of ecological ethics education for university students in Ho Chi Minh City in the coming time.
- Thesis research object: Ecological ethics education for university students in Ho Chi Minh City today.
- Research methods used: Based on the dialectical materialist methodology, the thesis uses a synthesis of research methods of philosophy and social sciences in general such as analysis and synthesis, logic and history, statistics, comparison, induction, deduction, document research... The thesis also uses sociological methods such as survey investigation, in-depth interviews, and consulting experts to achieve the proposed purpose.

Firstly, the thesis has systematized and clarified theoretical issues related to ecological ethics education for university students in Ho Chi Minh City, specifically:
+ Clarifying the important role of ecological ethics education for university students in Ho Chi Minh City today. The thesis affirms that ecological ethics education for the young generation in general and students in particular is an objective requirement arising from the actual social situation, environmental status, and climate change in Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country.
+ Clarifying the content, methods and subjects of ecological ethics education for university students in Ho Chi Minh City, especially analyzing the outstanding features, specificities and emphasizing the role of university students in Ho Chi Minh City in the development of Ho Chi Minh City in general, and in environmental protection in particular. At the same time, analyzing the factors affecting ecological ethics education for university students in this city.
Second, the thesis evaluates and analyzes the achievements, limitations, causes of achievements and limitations in ecological ethics education for university students in Ho Chi Minh City, from which the thesis points out the issues that need to be focused on solving in the process of ecological ethics education for university students in this city.

However, due to many subjective and objective reasons, the work of ecological ethics education for university students in the city still has some limitations and shortcomings.
From the practice of ecological ethics education for university students in Ho Chi Minh City, the researcher raised some issues that need to be solved in the coming time:the first,The contradiction between the requirement to comply with ecological ethical standards and the current implementation situation is still inadequate;Monday,The contradiction between the need to develop content, programs, and methods of ecological ethics education and the slow reality of their renewal;Tuesday,The contradiction between the requirement to constantly improve the role and responsibility of subjects in ecological ethics education for students and the problem of awareness of responsibility of some subjects;Wednesday,The contradiction between the requirement of ecological ethics education for students requires multi-faceted investment but the conditions to ensure educational activities are still limited. Based on the analysis of the problems, the researcher proposed 05 groups of solutions to improve the effectiveness of ecological ethics education for university students in Ho Chi Minh City in the coming time, including:the first,Ensure institutional environmental conditions for ecological ethics education activities for university students in the city. First, compare the effectiveness of ecological ethics education between public and non-public universities to clarify the different factors affecting the education process and student reception.
Second, analyze the role of practical experience activities and extracurricular models (such as ecological clubs, environmental volunteer programs) in forming and developing ecological ethics for students.
Third, analyze the role of lecturers in integrating ecological ethics education into general and specialized subjects, on that basis propose appropriate pedagogical methods to improve teaching effectiveness in universities.
Fourth, survey the differences in ecological ethics awareness and behavior among students of different training majors, thereby providing a basis for building a specific ecological ethics education program.
Fifth, to examine the differences in ecological ethics awareness and behavior between students in Ho Chi Minh City and students in other large cities, in order to identify local factors that influence ecological ethics education.

Changes in academic process: The doctoral student changed the thesis title from “Educating the awareness of environmental protection for students in Ho Chi Minh City today” to “Educating ecological ethics for students in Ho Chi Minh City today”.
Research purposes:Based on the analysis of theoretical issues on ecological ethics education for students, this thesis examines and evaluates the current status of ecological ethics education for students in Ho Chi Minh City and proposes solutions to improve the effectiveness of ecological ethics education for students in Ho Chi Minh City in the future.
Research subjects:The research subject of the thesis is ecological ethics education for students in Ho Chi Minh City today.
Research methods:Based on the materialist dialectical methodology, the thesis uses a synthesis of research methods from philosophy and social sciences in general including analysis and synthesis, logic and history, statistics, comparison, induction, deduction, document research... The thesis also uses logical methods such as surveys, in-depth interviews, and asking for expert opinions to achieve the set purpose.

At the same time, it analyzed the factors affecting ecological ethics education for students in this city.
Second,the thesis evaluated and analyzed the achievements, limitations, causes of achievements, and limitations in ecological ethics education for students in Ho Chi Minh City, from which the thesis points out the issues that need to be focused on solving in the process of ecological ethics education for students in this city.
Third,based on the identified issues, the thesis proposed several practical solutions aimed at improving the effectiveness of ecological ethics education for students in Ho Chi Minh City.
Conclusions:
+ Based on the guidelines and policies of the Party, the laws of the State, and the directives and decisions from the Ministry of Education and Training, as well as from the City Party Committee and the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City regarding environmental protection, universities in the city have proactively implemented ecological ethics education for students and achieved notable results. However, due to many subjective and objective reasons, ecological ethics education for students in the city still has some limitations and inadequacies.
+ Based on the current practice of ecological ethics education for university students in Ho Chi Minh City, the PhD candidate identified several pressing issues that need to be addressed soon:First,the contradiction between the requirement to comply with ecological ethical standards and the current state of implementation is still inadequate;Second,the contradiction between the need to develop content, programs, and methods of ecological ethics education and the reality of their slow innovation;Third,the conflict between the need to constantly improve the role and responsibility of subjects in ecological ethics education for students and the issue of awareness of the responsibilities of subjects;Fourth,the conflict between the requirements for ecological ethics education for students requires multifaceted investment but the conditions to ensure educational activities are still limited. Based on the analysis of the issues raised, the PhD student proposed five groups of solutions to improve the effectiveness of ecological ethics education for students in Ho Chi Minh City in the coming time. include:First,ensure the institutional environmental conditions for ecological ethics education activities for students in Ho Chi Minh City today;Second,innovate the content, programs, and methods of ecological ethics education for students in Ho Chi Minh City today;Third,raise awareness, roles, and responsibilities of subjects in ecological ethics education for students in Ho Chi Minh City today;Fourth, promote positivity and initiative in self-education and self-training in ecological ethics among students in Ho Chi Minh City today;Fifth,ensure educational and financial environmental conditions for ecological ethics education activities for students in Ho Chi Minh City today.
First, comparing the effectiveness of ecological ethics education between public and non-public universities to clarify the different factors affecting the education process and student reception.
Second, analyzing the role of practical experience activities and extracurricular models (such as ecological clubs, environmental volunteer programs) in forming and developing ecological ethics for students.
Third, analyzing the role of tutors in integrating ecological ethics education into general and specialized subjects, on that basis apparently appropriate pedagogical methods to improve teaching effectiveness in universities.
