Purpose and research objects of the thesis
- Research purpose of the thesis: The thesis analyzes and clarifies the development of the foreign relations of the Communist Party of Vietnam from 2011 to 2019 in the theoretical and practical fields. On that basis, the thesis proposes recommendations to improve the quality of activities and promote the role of the Party's foreign affairs in the country's general foreign relations.

Research methods used
The author uses general research methods in social sciences and humanities and methods in international relations. The historical research method examines the party's foreign relations in a continuous process from 2011 to 2019 in historical connection with many other factors and impacts from the world and the region. The logical method is to find out the nature, inevitable trends and movements in the development of foreign relations of the Communist Party of Vietnam. The policy analysis and synthesis analysis methods are to analyze the foreign policy of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the characteristics of the international and domestic context, the developments, the process of perception and implementation in the practice of foreign relations, from which to synthesize to form comments and evaluate the implementation of the foreign policy of the Communist Party of Vietnam. The statistical method, primary document research, directly participating in serving the party's foreign affairs activities, helps the research to have a high degree of authenticity.

- The thesis proves the existence of the Communist Party of Vietnam as a subject in international relations; clarifies the content, position and role of party foreign affairs in the Vietnamese foreign affairs system, in performing functions to implement the foreign policy of the Communist Party of Vietnam, thereby contributing to perfecting the theory of the Vietnamese foreign affairs system in general and party foreign affairs in particular.
- Based on a comprehensive and systematic analysis of the foreign relations of the Communist Party of Vietnam from 2011 to 2019, the thesis affirms the correctness of the foreign policy of multilateralization, diversification, and the policy of expanding foreign relations of the Communist Party of Vietnam with the aim of ensuring the supreme interests of the nation.
- The thesis can be used directly for professional work at agencies doing foreign affairs and diplomacy; as a reference document for teaching and researching foreign policy, as well as political science, regional studies, international relations at academies, schools, agencies and research institutes.
Conclude
- The Communist Party of Vietnam is the core leader of the entire political system of the country and leads and directs unified foreign affairs work. The Party not only plans and builds foreign policies and leads the implementation of those policies, but is also the direct subject of implementing foreign policies.
- The Communist Party of Vietnam always adheres to the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation and development, diversification and multilateralization of foreign relations. Ensuring the highest national interests on the basis of the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter and international law, equality, cooperation and mutual benefit. Combining national strength with the strength of the times, proactively and actively integrating comprehensively and deeply into the international community; Vietnam is a friend, a reliable partner and an active, responsible member of the international community.

At the same time, the results in party foreign relations contribute to constantly improving the Party's position in the international arena, for the benefit of the nation and people; actively contribute to the international communist and workers' movement, to the cause of peace, national independence, democracy and social progress in the world.

Thesis purpose and objectives
- Research purpose: The thesis analyzes and clarifies the development of external relations of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) from 2011 to 2019 in the fields of theory and practice. On that basis, the thesis proposes recommendations to improve the quality of activities and promote the role of CPV's external relations in the country's general foreign relations.
- Research object: External Relations of the Communist Party of Vietnam from 2011 to 2019
Research methods
General research methods in the social sciences and humanities and methods in international relations have been used. The historical research method examines the party's external relations in a continuous process from 2011 to 2019 in historical connection with many other factors and impacts from the world and the region. The logical method is used to find out the nature, inevitable trends and movements in the development of foreign relations of the CPV. Policy analysis and synthesis methods are used to analyze the foreign policy of the CPV, characteristics of the international and domestic context, developments, perception and implementation processes in the foreign relations system, thereby synthesizing them to form assessments of the implementation of the CPV's foreign policy. Statistical methods, primary document research, and direct participation in serving the party's external affairs activities help make the research highly realistic.

- The thesis proves the existence of the CPV as a subject in international relations; clarifies the content, position and role of party external relations in the Vietnamese foreign affairs system, in performing functions to implement the foreign policy of the CPV, thereby contributing to perfecting the theory of Vietnam's foreign affairs system in general and the party's external relations in particular.
- Based on a comprehensive and systematic analysis of the external relations of the CPV from 2011 to 2019, the thesis affirms the correctness of the foreign policy of multilateralization, diversification, and democracy, and the CPV's policy of expanding foreign relations aimed at ensuring the supreme interests of the nation.

Conclusions
- The CPV is the nucleus that leads the entire political system of the country and provides unified leadership and direction for foreign affairs. The Party not only plans and develops foreign policies and leads the implementation of those policies, but is also the subject that directly implements foreign policies.
- The CPV continuously pursues the foreign policy of independence, autonomy, peace, friendship, cooperation, development, and diversification and multilateralization of external relations. To ensure to the utmost State and national interests on the basis of fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter and international law, equality, cooperation and mutual benefit. To combine the nation's strength with that of the times, and be proactive and active in comprehensive and in-depth international integration; Vietnam is a friend, a reliable partner, and an active and responsible member of the international community.
- As one of the three pillars of comprehensive, modern diplomacy, Party external relations has an important position and role in successfully implementing the Party's guidelines, policies, and foreign policies of the government. The Party's external relations: create a political foundation to promote relations between Vietnam and other countries in depth, stability, and sustainability; Consolidate and strengthen international political support, gain the sympathy of political parties, organizations, and political circles for the revolutionary cause of the CPV.
