11. Summary of new results of the thesis:
Research methods
Document research method: The thesis studied 204 documents related to deviant behavior of high school students and related factors. Of which, domestic documents accounted for about 1/3, the rest were documents in foreign languages.
Survey method by questionnaire: This is the main method of the thesis. The study conducted a questionnaire survey on 914 samples of high school students at 7 schools in Dong Thap province, including 4 schools in the city of the province, 3 schools in the districts.
In-depth interview method: The study also conducted 15 in-depth interviews with students and 10 in-depth interviews with high school teachers for the survey.
Key results
The HVLC of high school students in Dong Thap are mainly less serious behavioral patterns, tending towards school discipline violations and some aggressive behavior patterns. Cyber-discipline violations and substance abuse are less common.
Family emotional attachment reduces students' HVLC.
School engagement reduces student HVLC.
Family disciplinary styles increase students' HVLC
School discipline reduces student HVLC
Learning motivation reduces students' HVLC
Perceived self-worth reduces students' HVLC
Student depression symptoms increase student HVLC.
Proposing a multi-level intervention model to reduce deviant behavior of high school students. Social work activities are carried out towards intervention at the individual, family and school levels.
New contributions of the thesis
The thesis outlines some research directions on the impact of factors on deviant behavior of high school students.
The thesis has evaluated the impact of factors on deviant behavior. Factors affecting deviant behavior include: Family attachment factor, school attachment factor, school discipline factor, learning motivation factor, self-awareness factor, depression factor.
The thesis proposes a multi-level intervention model toaimed at preventing and intervening in deviant behavior of high school students.
Conclude
Family bonding and family discipline style are important factors affecting HVLC. Therefore, social workers have a scientific basis to develop intervention activities and prevent HVLC at the family level.
School engagement and school discipline are important factors in reducing student HVLC. Therefore, social workers have a scientific basis to develop intervention activities and prevent HVLC at the school level.
Learning motivation, sense of self-worth, and expression of depression are important factors affecting students' HVLC. Therefore, social workers have a scientific basis to develop intervention activities and prevent HVLC at the individual level.
Proposing a multi-level intervention model and activities aimed at preventing and intervening in deviant behavior of high school students.
12. Further research directions:
The research results of the thesis open up research directions on family engagement and school engagement in the context of educational innovation and cultural integration today. School engagement and family engagement are also topics that need to be studied in the future because in reality there are still quite a few studies on this topic in Vietnam.
Furthermore, the factor of depression needs to be studied more extensively because this factor is not only a mental health problem but also a factor that influences students' deviant behavior.
