11. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:
- The thesis assessed the level of life satisfaction among children aged 8 to 12 in Vietnam through two dimensions: satisfaction with their own lives and satisfaction with their environment and the people around them. The majority of children aged 8 to 12 years old have a high level of life satisfaction.Levels of satisfaction tend to decrease with age.
- Among 10- and 12-year-olds, urban children are generally more satisfied with life, safety, appearance, and the future than rural children. When comparing genders of 8-year-olds,Girls have a higher level of satisfaction with the people they live with and with their environment and the people around them than boys. When comparing the living areas of 8-year-olds, rural children have higher levels of satisfaction with their peers than urban children. However, when considering satisfaction with neighbors, satisfaction with what they learn at school, satisfaction with their living area, and satisfaction with their environment and the people around them, urban children show higher levels of satisfaction among 10- and 12-year-olds.
- The thesis assessed the level of influence and predictive power of factors affecting life satisfaction among children aged 8 to 12, such as: parental and relative care, listening, and support; teacher care, listening, and respect, and peer support; community support and assistance; recreational activities; family support and sports; and economic conditions.HaveThe factor of being bullied has a positive impact on children's life satisfaction. Bullying has a negative impact on children's life satisfaction. Eight-year-old and ten-year-old children gave slightly higher ratings of satisfaction regarding parental and family care, listening, and support compared to twelve-year-old children. Considering the factor of care and help from people in the neighborhood, eight-year-old children had the highest satisfaction, followed by ten-year-olds, and finally twelve-year-olds. When examining the factors of play, recreation, helping with family, and sports, twelve-year-old children spent the most time on play and recreation. Eight-year-old children spent the most time helping with household chores and playing sports. Economic conditions had a negligible impact on children's life satisfaction. The attention, listening, and support of parents and family members have the greatest impact on children's life satisfaction.
