2. Objectives of the training program
2.1 General Objectives
The undergraduate Social Work program equips students with fundamental knowledge of social sciences and humanities, specialized knowledge in theory, intervention/support methods, and applied research methods in social work to identify, analyze, and provide interventions for psychosocial problems of vulnerable individuals, groups, and communities. In addition, students are trained and apply professional skills including intervention practice, research, critical thinking, communication, organization, supervision, and professional work management, as well as technological competence in data analysis, foreign language proficiency, and innovation and entrepreneurship skills. Upon graduation, students will become dynamic, responsible, and critical-thinking professionals with the professional skills to adapt and succeed in a wide range of fields such as applied occupational intervention, teaching, research, administration and human resources, community service, governance, management, and communication, as well as the ability to continue lifelong learning.
2.2 Specific Objectives
- Graduates will demonstrate the ability to apply fundamental knowledge of social sciences and in-depth knowledge of social work to identify, analyze, and intervene in social problems of disadvantaged individuals, groups, and communities at the local and global levels, based on critical thinking, innovative thinking, and entrepreneurship. This will enable them to develop creative solutions to address social problems for disadvantaged communities, contributing to the promotion of social development and equity.
- Graduates will demonstrate strong research and social work skills, knowing how to enhance the problem-solving abilities of disadvantaged individuals, groups, and communities in society based on scientific principles and professional ethics;
- Graduates will demonstrate a high level of social responsibility through their ability to work independently and effectively in teams, their ability to organize and manage professional work on schedule, their effective communication in a multicultural environment, and their sufficient foreign language skills for communication in life and in the professional environment. Based on a commitment to humanitarian values, learners will be able to participate in building and advocating for policies that benefit vulnerable groups; while maintaining a spirit of lifelong learning, adhering to professional ethics, and fulfilling all the responsibilities of social workers.

PART II: LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE TRAINING PROGRAM
1. Regarding knowledge
PLO 01: Applying basic knowledge of political theory, philosophy, economics, sociology, law, and technology to understand and address academic and real-life issues in the contemporary context;
PLO 02: Applying fundamental knowledge of academic standards, professional ethics, creative thinking, design thinking, entrepreneurship, information technology, and AI tools to analyze and solve professional and life problems in the context of the digital age;
PLO 03: Able to apply basic concepts, theories, methods, and knowledge in the field of social sciences and humanities to conduct basic and applied research in the field of Social Work;
PLO 04: Explain and apply social work theories and methods to intervene and assist individuals, families, groups, and communities in specific areas, adapting to multicultural and social change contexts;
PLO 05: Apply knowledge of social work management, social policy, and social security to develop operational plans for providing social services, advocating, campaigning, participating in policy development, and connecting resources to enhance problem-solving capacity for individuals, families, groups, and communities in the learner's chosen area of specialization.
2. Regarding skills
PLO 06: Coordinate research methods, data collection and processing technologies, and presentation of research results in the field of social sciences and humanities to conduct research and carry out professional activities;
PLO 07: Master the skills and techniques of social work practice to approach, analyze and assess problems, plan, implement interventions, and evaluate solutions to address the problems of individuals, families, groups, and communities;
PLO 08: Develop critical thinking skills in identifying social issues, analyzing and evaluating social policies;
PLO 09: Proficiency in academic English in the social sciences and humanities in academic and professional environments at level B1, equivalent to level 3 (according to the 6-level foreign language proficiency framework used in Vietnam) as prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training and Hanoi National University.

- Working as a consultant or analyst for policies/programs in social work and social security service management agencies from the central to the local level;
- Working as a policy consultant, organizing and implementing programs in socio-political organizations and mass media agencies;
- Working as a social worker or counselor in public and private social assistance facilities;
- Working as a social worker or counselor in healthcare settings;
- Working as a counselor or social support staff member in educational institutions;
- Working as a lecturer or conducting scientific research at research and training institutions in the field of Social Work, and as a researcher in research centers and institutes;
- Working as a project officer in domestic and international non-governmental organizations;
- To be the founder and initiator of social enterprise projects and models, and centers providing social work services to needy groups.
