2. Objectives of the training program
2.1 General Objectives
The goal is to train graduates in Vietnamese Studies who possess the qualities of humanistic intellectuals, professional ethics, a spirit of service to the country and community, and the capacity to work in the field of Vietnamese Studies. This will contribute to building the image of highly qualified, high-quality, pioneering, and creative learners in disseminating information about Vietnam and its people in the region and around the world.
2.2 Specific Objectives
- To provide learners with fundamental knowledge of political theory, philosophy, economics, sociology, law, and technology to understand and address academic and life issues in the contemporary context; basic knowledge of academic standards, professional ethics, creative thinking, design thinking, entrepreneurship, information technology, and AI tools to analyze and address professional and life issues in the digital age. The program introduces an interdisciplinary approach to understanding, analyzing, and evaluating several issues in the field of Vietnamese Studies (including: culture, history, ethnicity, economics, society, politics, literature, language and the Vietnamese language, geography, environment, Vietnamese art and architecture, historical relics, scenic spots, villages, tourism in Vietnam, some issues of media management and globalization);
- To help learners develop academic English skills in the social sciences and humanities within a learning and professional environment at the B1 level, equivalent to level 3 (according to the 6-level foreign language proficiency framework used in Vietnam) as prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training and Hanoi National University; to develop problem-solving skills by identifying, evaluating, and analyzing the main achievements of fields related to research and training in Vietnamese studies;
- The program helps learners cultivate ethical principles in research and professional conduct during research and professional activities; supports learners in forming habits of self-learning, self-research, and lifelong learning; and enhances their research or work capabilities in a culturally diverse environment.

PART II: LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE TRAINING PROGRAM
1. Regarding knowledge
PLO 01: Applying basic knowledge of political theory, philosophy, economics, sociology, law, and technology to understand and address academic and real-life issues in the contemporary context;
PLO 02: Applying fundamental knowledge of academic standards, professional ethics, creative thinking, design thinking, entrepreneurship, information technology, and AI tools to analyze and solve professional and life problems in the context of the digital age, especially in the relationship between Vietnamese studies and digital humanities;
PLO 03: Able to apply basic concepts, theories, methods, and knowledge in the field of social sciences and humanities to conduct research and perform professional activities; introduce an interdisciplinary approach to understanding, analyzing, and evaluating some issues in the field of Vietnamese studies;
PLO 04: Identifying specialized knowledge systems encompassing issues such as: Vietnamese ethnic groups, Vietnamese villages, local studies, traditional Vietnamese performing arts, Vietnamese tourism, and Vietnam's position and characteristics within the Southeast Asian context; and systems of methods and skills for researching and teaching Vietnamese to foreigners.
PLO 05: Analysis of content related to Vietnamese culture from tradition to modernity in the following fields: culture, history, ethnic groups, economics, society, politics, literature, language and the Vietnamese language, geography, environment, Vietnamese art and architecture, historical relics, scenic spots, villages, Vietnamese tourism, some issues of media management and globalization;
PLO 06: Apply specialized knowledge of Vietnamese studies to work in the fields of cultural management, journalism, media, tourism, etc., and research specific issues related to Vietnam.
PLO 07: Knowledge standards for each specialization:
a. Specialization A
- Applying language skills at a relatively proficient level in all four areas (listening, speaking, reading, writing) to work in the field of Vietnamese Studies;
- To synthesize and analyze typical cultural characteristics and assess the characteristics of Vietnam and its people; the evolution and development of these characteristics in the new era, linked to the context of globalization.
b. Specialization B
- Applying Vietnamese proficiently in all four skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) to work related to Vietnamese studies, especially in the fields of: Culture, History, Economics, Society, Language, Literature, etc.;
- To understand and apply basic knowledge of Vietnamese phonetic structure, vocabulary, and grammar in order to help learners use Vietnamese accurately and appropriately.
2. Regarding skills
PLO 08: Proficient in academic English in the social sciences and humanities in academic and professional environments at level B1, equivalent to level 3 (according to the 6-level foreign language proficiency framework used in Vietnam) as prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training and Hanoi National University;
PLO 09: Coordinate research methods, data collection and processing technologies, and presentation of research results in the field of social sciences and humanities to conduct research and carry out professional activities;
PLO 10: Proficient in problem-solving based on independent and systematic thinking, research, and knowledge discovery: Possesses problem-solving skills through identifying, evaluating, and analyzing the main achievements of fields related to research and training in Vietnamese studies.

PLO 11: Properly apply the principles of research ethics and professional ethics in the process of conducting research and carrying out professional activities;

- After graduation, graduates with a Bachelor's degree in Vietnamese Studies can work in cultural, political, social, international relations, educational, and scientific institutions, both in Vietnam and abroad;
- Graduates with a Bachelor's degree in Vietnamese Studies are capable of working in teaching and research on Vietnamese Studies, culture, history, literature, the Vietnamese language, etc., at universities, research institutes, and related professional organizations;
- Graduates with a Bachelor's degree in Vietnamese Studies are capable of working in journalism, as tour guides and tourism managers, managing historical and cultural sites and scenic spots, providing services, doing office work, and promoting the Vietnamese language to foreigners, etc., at press agencies, cultural and media organizations, companies, offices, and Vietnamese language teaching institutions both domestically and internationally;
- Graduates in Vietnamese Studies are capable of working as interpreters, translators, and consultants for domestic and foreign businesses and corporations on issues directly related to Vietnam and its people, facilitating their access to policies and investment plans in Vietnam;
- Graduates with a Bachelor's degree in Vietnamese Studies can work in diplomatic agencies, international organizations, representative offices, trade offices, and governmental and non-governmental organizations both domestically and abroad.
