The Faculty of Linguistics has a strong tradition of international cooperation. The Faculty has maintained and continued to collaborate with traditional partners for decades. Over the years, the Faculty has continuously expanded its links with many universities and research centers in the region and around the world. Success in international cooperation opens up many job and study opportunities for lecturers and students of the Faculty as well as access to scholarship sources to help lecturers and students of the Faculty improve their professional qualifications and foreign language skills.
Many international scientific conferences organized by the Faculty of Linguistics in collaboration with foreign universities have resonated in the academic world, such as: Pan-Asiatic Linguistics International Scientific Conference (2005); International Scientific Conference “Research and Teaching of Vietnamese - Chinese Language and Culture” (2007, 2009, 2011); International Scientific Conference “Teaching and Researching Linguistics in Vietnam: Theoretical and Practical Issues” (2011, 2013, 2016), “Nguyen Tai Can - Thoughts, Works and Memories” (2021), “Research and Teaching of Linguistics and Vietnamese Linguistics” (2022), “Geolinguistics in Asia and Vietnam” (2023).
Along with training and scientific research, the Faculty of Linguistics also strengthens and expands international cooperation. The Faculty has had and is having effective scientific cooperation and training links with many universities, academies and research centers in countries around the world such as: University of Paris 7 (France), University of California - Los Angeles, Cornell University (USA), University of Toronto, University of Ottawa (Canada), Australian National University (Australia), Osaka University (Japan), Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Seoul National University (Korea), Guangxi University, Guangxi University for Nationalities, Lijiang Academy, Hu Xiangsi Academy, Yunnan University for Nationalities, Yunnan University, Yunnan University of Finance and Economics, Tianchi Academy, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and Foreign Trade, Shanghai University of Foreign Studies (China), Kaohsiung University (Taiwan), Ubon Ratchathani University, Chukalongkorn University, Mahasarakham University (Thailand), etc.
