Professor Phung Huu Phu was awarded the 45-year Party Membership Badge.

This is a great recognition from the Party for the enduring contributions and tireless efforts of Comrade Phung Huu Phu throughout his 45 years in the Party ranks. Comrade Phung Huu Phu is a shining example of courage, intelligence, a spirit of continuous learning, dedication, creativity, and the outstanding fulfillment of all tasks entrusted to him by the Party, the State, and the people. Even after retiring from his work, he continues to make many heartfelt contributions to the cause of science, technology, education and training, and Party building.

Professor Phung Huu Phu was the first Secretary of the Party Committee of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU), and the first Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU (from 1995 to 1999). In his capacity as Secretary of the Party Committee of VNU, Professor Phung Huu Phu contributed his talent and enthusiasm to the building and strengthening of VNU from its early days, especially in fostering unity and consensus within the Party committee and leadership team.
During his time as Secretary of the Party Committee of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and concurrently Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Professor Phung Huu Phu was also entrusted with many important tasks by the Hanoi City Party Committee. In 1998, he was appointed by the Hanoi City Party Committee to the position of Head of the Propaganda Department, concurrently Head of the University Department. From 2001, he was elected to the Central Committee of the Party (9th term) and appointed to the position of Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee, concurrently Chairman of the Hanoi City People's Council.
After completing his work at central government agencies, Professor Phung Huu Phu returned to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - the institution where he had dedicated his entire life.
Currently, in his capacity as Chairman of the Scientific and Training Council, he continues to support the university in formulating innovative strategies for breakthrough development in the future.
