Professor Phung Huu Phu was awarded the 45-year Party membership badge.

This is a great recognition from the Party for his persistent contributions and tireless efforts during his 45 years in the Party. Comrade Phung Huu Phu is a shining example of courage, intelligence, spirit of continuous learning, dedication, creativity and excellent completion of all tasks assigned by the Party, State and people. Although he has retired, he continues to make many dedicated contributions to the cause of science, technology, education - training and Party building.

Prof. Dr. Phung Huu Phu was the Secretary of the Party Committee of VNU, term 1, the first Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU (from 1995 - 1999). In his position as Secretary of the Party Committee of VNU, Prof. Dr. Phung Huu Phu contributed his talent and enthusiasm to the construction and consolidation of VNU right from the first days, especially in building a high level of solidarity and unanimity within the Party Committee and leadership.
During his time as Secretary of the Party Committee of VNU, concurrently Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Prof. Dr. Phung Huu Phu was also trusted and entrusted with many important tasks by the Hanoi Party Committee. In 1998, he was appointed by the Hanoi Party Committee to hold the position of Head of the Propaganda Department, concurrently Head of the University Department. Since 2001, he was elected to the Party Central Committee (9th term) and appointed to hold the position of Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, concurrently Chairman of the City People's Council.
After completing his work at central agencies, Professor Phung Huu Phu returned to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - the school to which he devoted his entire life.
Currently, in his position as Chairman of the Science and Training Council, he continues to support the School in orienting innovation strategies for breakthrough development in the coming time.
