Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thi Kim Hoa, in her position as Head of the Strong Research Group on Social Work and Social Security, is the author of 7 books, monographs, and textbooks, most notably: "The Impact of Social Change on the Stability and Development of Ethnic Minority Regions in Vietnam Today" (Co-editor, Monograph), Vietnam National University, Hanoi Publishing House, March 2021; "The Impact of Social Stratification on the Stability and Development of Ethnic Minority Regions in Vietnam Today" (Co-editor, Monograph), Vietnam National University, Hanoi Publishing House, March 2021; "Handbook on Identifying Signs of Autism Spectrum Disorder in Children: Early Intervention Methods for Parents and Teachers" (Co-editor), Vietnam National University, Hanoi Publishing House, October 2021.
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thi Kim Hoa is also the author of 14 articles published in domestic journals and 2 articles published in ISI/SCOPUS foreign journals; she has chaired and is currently chairing 5 science and technology projects; she has participated as a member in 4 science and technology projects; and she is the principal supervisor of 6 doctoral students.

In the last three years, members of the NCM Social Work and Social Security group have edited or co-authored 11 books, monographs, and textbooks. They have also published 50 articles in domestic scientific journals and 29 articles in international scientific journals.

Notable examples include the article by Dr. Dang Kim Khanh Ly titled “Prospects for Economic, Ecological and Social Transformation in Vietnam: From Practice to Policy”, World Publishing House, 2020 (pp. 390-408) in the book “Ecological and Social Transformation: Shifts in Research and Application Approaches in Vietnam”; the book “Managing Social Development in Vietnam: Current Situation, Issues and Policy Orientations” (National Political Publishing House, Hanoi, 2019) co-authored by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha; and the book “Professional Social Work Activities in Implementing People's Social Security Rights Regarding Care, Nurturing in the Community and Emergency Support” (National University Publishing House, Hanoi, 2022) by authors Mai Linh, Nguyen Thi Kim Hoa, and Nguyen Trung Hai. Members of NCM have also been working on 34 projects funded by the Vietnam National University, Hanoi and projects funded by the Nafosted Foundation.

Some activities of the NCM Social Work and Social Welfare group.
During the three-year period (2022-2025), the research group will pursue research objectives closely aligned with the priority research directions and the Science and Technology Strategy of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities as well as Vietnam National University, Hanoi. This includes continuing applied research in social work and social welfare for children, the elderly, people with disabilities, and the poor; and developing applied research projects both domestically and internationally related to social work and social welfare.
Social work and social security are extremely urgent issues in the current period. Therefore, leveraging its strengths in training, consulting, and communication, the "Social Work and Social Security" research group will promote the application of its research activities. Notable tasks include: Research on employment solutions for the elderly in Hanoi after the Covid-19 pandemic (2023); and the current situation and solutions for social insurance participation of workers in non-state enterprises in Hanoi after the Covid-19 pandemic (2024).
As a leading research group in the field of Social Work and Social Security in Vietnam, the Social Work and Social Security Research Group of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, has been expanding its research collaborations and recruiting new members in accordance with VNU regulations to improve the quantity and quality of publications. Accordingly, the Group will strive to achieve a higher publication target (approximately 1.5 times) across its activities, including: completing 5 VNU-level science and technology research projects within 3 years; compiling 3 books related to social work and social security; organizing 3 seminars on social work and social security; and providing training for provincial Departments of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs on social work. With 10 staff members, the group will produce at least 3 scientific research papers annually in ISI/SCOPUS journals.
