According to the agreement, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) and Seoul National University (SNU) will cooperate in research, faculty and student exchange. The two universities will implement many in-depth collaborative activities in areas such as semiconductor industry, artificial intelligence technology, promoting the development of Vietnamese studies in Korea, and developing talent through exchange programs for outstanding students and young scientists.
The presence of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Prime Minister Han Duck Soo demonstrates the deep interest and support of the two governments, contributing to promoting cooperation between Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) and Seoul National University in the fields of education and research. The cooperation between VNU and Seoul National University is expected by the leaders of both governments to help train high-quality human resources to meet the development needs of both countries.
In the coming period, Seoul National University will join forces with Vietnam National University, Hanoi to promote a model of cooperation with businesses. Emphasis will be placed on establishing joint research centers between Vietnam National University, Hanoi and Seoul National University, along with Vietnamese and Korean businesses. The two universities will develop concrete plans to realize their cooperation commitments in the fields of high-quality human resource training and collaborative research and technology transfer. Simultaneously, they will strengthen student and faculty exchange programs to create opportunities for international learning and research for students and faculty from both sides.

As a leading institution in Vietnam's higher education system, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) was the first public institution to open Korean language and Korean studies programs in 1993, shortly after the two countries established diplomatic relations. Currently, VNU's faculty and experts are actively involved in projects to promote and develop training and research on Korean language and culture within the Vietnamese education system. Over the years, VNU has had numerous collaborations in training and scientific research with leading Korean universities such as Seoul National University, and high-tech corporations like Samsung, LG, Hyundai, and SK.
Previously, on June 22, 2023, South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and his wife visited Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) and interacted with Korean language students during the President's official visit to Vietnam from June 22-24, 2023. President Yoon Suk Yeol remarked that VNU shares similarities with Seoul National University and both are important higher education institutions in training talent for the country. He expressed confidence that VNU will soon complete the construction of its facilities and campus at the new Hoa Lac campus to live up to its status as a leading university in Vietnam.
