USSH welcomes the delegation from the Yunnan Institute of Culture and History, China.

The delegation from the Yunnan Institute of Culture and History included Mr. Shi Likang – Party Secretary/Director of the Institute; Ms. Liu Rong – First-level Research Specialist; Mr. Zeng Ping – First-level Research Specialist; Mr. Pan Jie – Chief of Staff; and Ms. Tian Ling – Director of the Literature Research Department of the Yunnan Institute of Literature.

During the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Thanh Nam – Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-USSH – gave an overview of the university's development and highlighted the strengths of VNU-USSH in training and research in social sciences and humanities. In the process of international integration, the university has continuously expanded its network of partners, establishing cooperative relationships with many prestigious universities, academies, and research institutions in China, implementing diverse collaborative activities in training, scientific research, academic exchange, and cultural exchange. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Thanh Nam expressed his pleasure in welcoming the delegation from the Yunnan Institute of Culture and History to visit and work at VNU-USSH, and hoped that the visit would contribute to strengthening the connection between the two sides, opening up new avenues of cooperation, especially in the fields of historical and cultural research, preservation and promotion of documentary values, as well as scholar exchange and the organization of joint academic activities in the future.

Representatives from the Yunnan Institute of Culture and History stated that the Institute focuses on in-depth research in history and culture, and participates in the collection, research, and preservation of historical documents. These areas share many similarities with the research orientation and expertise of VNU-USSH, thus creating a favorable foundation for both sides to explore specific areas of cooperation. The delegation also introduced the Institute, which brings together many experienced researchers, including scholars and experts who previously worked at research institutions under the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. With its experienced research team and strengths in history and culture, the Institute hopes to enhance academic exchange, share resources, and promote joint research activities with Vietnamese research and training institutions.

Both sides agreed that history and culture are areas with great potential for enhanced cooperation, especially given Vietnam and China's long-standing relationship and numerous historical and cultural similarities. Based on shared strengths and research orientations, the two sides discussed the possibility of coordinating joint research activities on history and culture; collecting, preserving, digitizing, and exploiting the value of historical documents to serve research, teaching, and knowledge dissemination. Furthermore, they could strengthen exchanges of scholars, experts, and researchers, organize scientific conferences and seminars, share research results, and create opportunities for young scholars from both sides to interact and learn from each other.
