The valedictorian of the QH-2006-X course of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities this year is Dang Hoang Ngan - one of the outstanding students in the French-language Clinical Psychology major. With a score of 3.78/4, equivalent to 9.45/10, Hoang Ngan has become the valedictorian with the highest graduation score ever of the University. In real life, Hoang Ngan is friendly, approachable with a gentle and engaging way of speaking. People easily feel that Psychology is really suitable for your personality and inherent qualities. Ngan said: I like to learn French - a disciplined, precise but elegant and gentle language with the hope that through foreign languages, I will expand my knowledge and understanding of other cultures, enriching my own experiences. After 3 years of studying with excellent results at the French Specialized High School, University of Foreign Languages (VNU), French was the bridge for Ngan to enter the university door and to another love: Psychology. Mocking herself as someone who only likes to live a peaceful life, Ngan thinks that she is not suitable for jobs that are too crowded and harsh. The world that Ngan is passionate about learning and exploring is the human soul with its subtle vibrations and psychological breaks and deviations. Ngan said: Society is increasingly developing, the spiritual world of people is becoming more and more complex. Material wealth is being produced more but it seems that people are feeling less and less happy. Understanding people and also understanding yourself, finding joy, finding love and balance in life - that is Ngan's future career desire: To become a psychologist. When talking about studying, Hoang Ngan shared that she was very lucky to study in a good environment, in a class full of progressive students, enthusiastic teachers and very attractive learning methods. Ngan's class has 11 people, studying in both French and Vietnamese, with both Vietnamese and foreign teachers. The lessons are always lively because the teachers encourage a lot of exchange and discussion on specific professional issues. Therefore, Ngan is familiar with the proactive way of presenting problems, the ability to listen and debate, the spirit of cooperation in teamwork and many other important skills that help you become more confident and mature. In studying, Ngan values listening to lectures in class, because "if you listen and understand, you will remember for a long time". Good foreign language is an advantage to help you look up professional documents and update the latest scientific information about your field of study. The curriculum is heavy, and there is a lot of pressure to eliminate, but the spirit of studying in class is very high. "How to study well? There is only one secret: you must love your field of study and your future job" - Ngan said - "If you have passion, you will do everything. Try your best and you will never have regrets".

Learning goes hand in hand with practice, this is especially true for students of social sciences: either actively seek work, or you will have a headache with abstract, hard-to-imagine theoretical frameworks. Besides, Clinical Psychology is a field that requires high practical ability and tends to study individual cases. During her studies, Hoang Ngan had the opportunity to interact with many individuals, especially children with psychological disorders, initially learning, researching and proposing treatment measures to help people with disorders adapt to normal life. Lessons from books are applied to become effective solutions in practice. That makes Hoang Ngan more deeply aware of the role and professional responsibility of future psychologists - those who bring their knowledge, dedication and affection to heal the spiritual wounds of their fellow human beings. Ngan's graduation thesis on "The structure of the mind of aggressive children" based on a specific case study was evaluated as excellent and received the only perfect score of 10 from the Thesis Evaluation Council. Dr. Tran Thu Huong, Ngan's homeroom teacher, commented: "Ngan is intelligent, sensitive, hard-working, and has many qualities to become a clinical psychologist, both in research and practice. Moreover, Ngan's French is also very good. Ngan is very deserving of the results she has achieved and will go far in her career." Next September, Ngan will receive a scholarship from the Francophone Universities Organization AUF to become a graduate student in Clinical Psychology at the University of Nice Sophia-Antipolis (France). Once again, French and her love for Psychology have given Ngan the opportunity to expand her knowledge in a new learning environment and helped her get closer to her dream.
