As a student of the Faculty of Literature, Hanoi University, during the 1963-1967 academic year, and having to study in a dispersed campus environment amidst the roar of bombs and gunfire, former student Nguyen Phu Trong overcame all difficulties to become the only student to achieve the highest possible score on his graduation thesis in the entire cohort.

(GD&TĐ) Professor Nguyen Kim Dinh, a People's Teacher, was one of the teachers who directly taught in General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's class when he was a student at the University of Hanoi.

In September 1976, when I officially received my assignment to the Faculty of Literature at Hanoi University, Associate Professor and Distinguished Teacher Dang Thi Hanh was 46 years old. This was the most mature age in the life of a scientist, and also the most mature age for a woman in the family.
