We cordially invite all teachers and scientists to attend the workshop "Maritime and Island Archaeology of Vietnam: Potential and Prospects" organized by the Department of Archaeology, Faculty of History, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
The workshop, funded by the Center for Asian Studies Support, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, aims to provide an opportunity to discuss research and training issues in the field of Maritime Archaeology, a relatively new field in Vietnam, and to offer important directions for its development. Based on this, the organizing unit will be able to gather materials and scientific ideas for developing a new course.Archaeology of Vietnam's Islands and SeasThis makes this subject an important part of teaching and research in archaeology at the Faculty of History, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Hanoi.

Session 1 - The process of occupying and exploiting Vietnam's maritime and island territories.
Session 2 - Results of archaeological research on Vietnam's islands and seas
Session 3 - Application of some theories and methods in the research and exploitation of Vietnam's maritime and island archaeological heritage.
Session 4 - Discussion and workshop summary
Day two:May 8, 2015: Survey of the Bach Dang Stake Field historical site (Quang Yen, Quang Ninh). Time and location for transporting delegates: 7:00 AM on May 8, 2015, at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, 336 Nguyen Trai Street, Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi.
