Announcement of enrollment for the Journalism Writing Skills course (May 2015)

The University of Social Sciences and Humanities is recruiting students for a short-term certificate course in Journalism Writing Skills, commencing in May 2015.

1. Subject

– People working in news agencies and media organizations.

– Students who have graduated from or are currently studying at colleges/universities.

2. Objectives

By the end of the course, students will have acquired the basic knowledge and skills of journalism, specifically as follows:

– The current state of Vietnamese journalism and career opportunities in the field of print media.

– Law and Ethics in Journalism.

– Skills in identifying problems, gathering information, and evaluating journalistic information.

– Interviewing skills as a professional operation for journalists, and interviewing as an independent genre of journalism.

– Basic journalistic genres such as news, interviews, feature stories, and investigative reports.

– Organize the article.

3. Study time

– 18 sessions. 3 sessions per week, Monday – Wednesday – Friday, from 6 PM to 8 PM.

4. Utilize students' practical work.

Suitable and high-quality practical projects will be published on the website of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and authors will receive royalties according to the university's current regulations.

5. Expected start date

May 8, 2015

6. Tuition fees

– 2,500,000 VND/student/course.

– The discount for students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is: 2,200,000 VND/student/course.

– A minimum of 70% of the tuition fee must be paid upon registration. Tuition fees are non-refundable after the course begins.

7. Register for the course

– Before May 4th, 2015 at the Center for Journalism and Communication (Room 411, Building C, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, 336 Nguyen Trai Street, Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi).

– The registration documents include:

– Registration form (obtain and fill out the form at the registration location)

– A copy of your university diploma or a copy of your student ID card

– Copy of ID card

– A notarized copy of the birth certificate.

– 2 photos 4 x 6 cm (taken within the last 3 months)
