Announcement of enrollment for Journalism Writing Skills class (May 2015)

University of Social Sciences and Humanities is enrolling for a short-term training course granting certificates in Journalism Skills, starting in May 2015.

1. Subject

– People working in press agencies and media units.

– Students who have graduated/are studying at colleges/universities.

2. Objectives

At the end of the course, students will grasp the basic knowledge and skills of journalism, specifically as follows:

– The face of Vietnamese journalism and career opportunities in the field of print media.

– Law and Journalism Ethics.

– Skills to detect problems and collect information and evaluate press information.

– Interviewing skills as a professional practice of journalists, and interviewing as an independent genre of journalism.

– Basic journalism genres such as news, interviews, reports, and reflection articles.

– Organize the article.

3. Study time

– 18 sessions. 3 sessions per week, Monday – Wednesday – Friday, from 6pm – 8pm.

4. Use of students' practice products

Appropriate and good quality practical products will be posted on the website of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and the authors will receive royalties according to the current regulations of the school.

5. Expected opening date

– May 8, 2015

6. Tuition

– 2,500,000 VND/student/course.

– Discount for students of University of Social Sciences and Humanities: 2,200,000 VND/student/course.

– Pay at least 70% of tuition when registering. No refund after the start of the course.

7. Register for study

– Before May 4, 2015 at the Center for Journalism and Communication (Room 411, Building C, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, 336 Nguyen Trai, Thanh Xuan, Hanoi).

– Registration documents include:

– Registration form (receive and fill out the form at the registration location)

– Copy of university diploma or copy of student card

– Copy of ID card

– Notarized copy of birth certificate.

– 2 4 x 6 cm photos (taken within the last 3 months)
