Archival documents, as an important bridge between the past, present and future, increasingly make significant contributions to all areas of social life. Especially in scientific research, archival documents are considered an important source of data that objectively and truthfully reflects historical events.
In order to create a useful forum for domestic and foreign researchers to discuss and evaluate the value of archival sources on Vietnam in general and the ability to access and build digital humanities projects on Vietnam-France relations in particular, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, in recent years has coordinated with Aix-Marseille University, France to organize international seminars and workshops on sources, components, values and accessibility of archival documents.
Inheriting and promoting the achieved results and maintaining the cooperative relationship and scientific exchange, at the proposal of experts and scholars from Aix-Marseille University, the Department of Archival Science and Office Management, University of Social Sciences and Humanities organized the International Conference
“Archival documents sources about the Vietnam - France relationship - Interdisciplinary Approach”.
The workshop aimed to analyze and evaluate the role of archival documents in building and developing digital humanities projects on Vietnam-France relations; systematize archival sources on Vietnam that have been and are being stored in a number of countries around the world; analyze the ability to access sources of documents to build and develop digital humanities projects in general and Vietnam-France relations in particular. The workshop also created opportunities for postgraduate students majoring in Archival Studies, International Relations and History at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU to publish their research results internationally.
