Preliminary survey of training programs in Vietnamese Studies and Psychology

This morning, March 15, 2017, the External Assessment Team (EA) of the Center for Education Quality Assessment, Ho Chi Minh City National University (HCMC-EQA – VNU-HCM) conducted a preliminary survey at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities according to Decision No. 05/QD-TTKĐ dated February 10, 2017.

Preliminary survey of training programs in Vietnamese Studies and Psychology

The preliminary survey aims to prepare for the official survey of the School according to the quality assessment process of the standard training program at university level in Vietnamese Studies and Psychology.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoi Nghia - Head of the delegation worked with the leaders of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Attending the preliminary survey, the Evaluation Delegation was headed by Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Hoi Nghia - Director of the Center for Educational Quality Assessment - VNU-HCM, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh - Deputy Director of the Center, Associate Professor Tran Thi Hong, MSc. Pham Thi Bich as members - secretaries. On the side of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, there was Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa, Vice Principal of the school; and representatives of lecturers, officers and staff in the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Psychology.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa, Vice Principal of University of Social Sciences and Humanities, spoke at the meeting.

Speaking at the opening session of the preliminary assessment, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa, Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, affirmed the role and importance of educational quality assessment in the process of ensuring and improving the quality of higher education institutions. The school is committed to creating the most favorable conditions in terms of facilities as well as providing information and evidence to serve the preliminary survey process of the Assessment Team.

Dr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh gave his opinion on the evaluation of the evidence.

During the working session, the External Assessment Team introduced an overview of the quality assessment process of the Ministry of Education and Training's Standard Training Program; agreed on the plan and official survey program of the External Assessment Team at the school and guided the school in preparing for the official survey.

The delegation also inspected and researched supporting documents and surveyed facilities, visited lecture halls, classrooms, practice rooms, school libraries, dormitories, sports areas, extracurricular activity rooms, etc.

At the working session, after the inspection, the EIA expert team reported the results of the self-assessment file study, announced the official survey plan and the requirements for facilities and logistics that the School needs to prepare for the official survey. The two sides discussed and agreed on the issues that the School needs to prepare: additional supporting documents, the number and composition of interviewees, observers, and agreed on the official survey schedule.

Head of the Delegation of Experts and Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities signed the minutes of completion of the preliminary survey.

At the end of the survey, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hoi Nghia - Director of the Center for Educational Quality Assessment - VNU-HCM, Head of the Evaluation Delegation and Associate Professor Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa, Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities signed the Memorandum of Understanding on the content of the work done. The preliminary survey session ended successfully.
