Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) has officially announced the 2017 regular university admission information for its member units, including the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. In addition to the admission quota for the majors, the combination of national high school exam subjects/test scores for admission to training units in VNU has also been specifically announced. Accordingly, most of the exam combinations/test scores are associated with the previous traditional exam blocks (A, A1, B, C, D), creating favorable conditions for candidates in the process of reviewing knowledge and participating in the admission registration. For the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, in addition to continuing to consider candidates with valid results of the 2015 and 2016 VNU capacity assessment exams,all majorsThe results of 1 of the 4 following national high school exam subjects/test combinations will be considered:

+ Combination 4:Literature, Foreign Languages, Social Sciences (Combination code:D78,D79,D80,D81,D82,D83)
Information on regular university admissions in 2017 is as follows:
1. Recruitment area:Recruitment nationwide.
2. Admission objects:People who have completed the high school program and graduated from high school in the year of registration; people who have graduated from high school; people who have graduated from intermediate school and have a high school diploma; people who have graduated from intermediate school but do not have a high school diploma must study and be recognized as having completed the high school education program not during the disciplinary period according to the Admission Regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET).
3. Admission method:
– Phase 1:Admission is based on the results of the national high school exam according to the corresponding subject/exam combination; valid results of the competency assessment test (ĐGNL) organized by VNU; international certificate of the University of Cambridge Examination Center, UK (Cambridge International Examinations A-Level, UK; hereinafter referred to as A-Level certificate).
Admission time(expected)from 17/7-31/08/2017.
– Additional period:Admission is the same as Round 1. Specific admission regulations for each corresponding major will be announced on the School's website.(if any). Admission time(expected)before August 15, 2017.
4. National High School Exam Time:According to the National High School Exam schedule.
5. Direct admission, priority admission and direct admission
5.1 Direct admission for subjects specified in Point c, e, Clause 2, Article 7 of the current Admission Regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training:
a) Subjects:
– Candidates participating in the national team selection exam for the International Olympic competition, in the national team for the International Science and Technology Competition who have graduated from high school.
– Candidates who won first, second, and third prizes in the national excellent student competition and graduated from high school.
– Candidates who won first, second and third prizes in the National Science and Technology Competition and graduated from high school.
b) Quota: No quantity limit.
5.2 Direct admission for subjects specified in Point i, Clause 2, Article 7 of the current Admission Regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training:
a) Subjects:
– Candidates with permanent residence for 3 years or more, studying for 3 years and graduating from high school in poor districts (ethnic boarding high school students are calculated based on permanent residence), as of the date of application for admission according to the provisions of Resolution No. 30a/2008/NQ-CP dated December 27, 2008 of the Government on the Program to support rapid and sustainable poverty reduction for 61 poor districts and Decision No. 293/QD-TTg dated February 5, 2013 of the Prime Minister on targeted support from the central budget for 23 districts with high poverty rates are subject to infrastructure investment mechanisms and policies according to the provisions of Resolution No. 30a/2008/NQ-CP on the Program to support rapid and sustainable poverty reduction for 61 poor districts;
– Candidates are ethnic minorities according to current regulations of the Prime Minister and candidates from 20 poor border and island districts in the Southwest region.

5.3Direct admissionSubjects specified in Point g, Clause 2, Article 7 of the current Admission Regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training:
a) Subjects:
Candidates with severe disabilities must have a certificate of disability issued by a competent authority as prescribed and have graduated from high school.(The school does not have a training program specifically for candidates who are visually or hearing impaired).
b) Criteria: Not more than1%General criteria of each major.
5.4 Direct admission of specialized high school students at VNU:
a) Subjects:
Students of the High School for Natural Sciences under the University of Natural Sciences and the High School for Foreign Languages under the University of Foreign Languages.
b) Quota: 50 quotas for all majors.
5.5 Direct admission for candidates with international certificates from the University of Cambridge Examinations Center, UK (A-Level):
a) Subjects:
Candidates use the A-Level certificate to combine the results of 3 exams according to the exam blocks prescribed by the corresponding training program. The score of each exam must be 60/100 points or higher (equivalent to grade C, PUM range ≥ 60) to be eligible to register for admission.
b) Quota: Not more than 5% of the general quota of each major.
5.6 Priority admissionSubjects specified in Point a, Clause 3, Article 7 of the current Admission Regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training:
a) Subjects:
Candidates who won first, second, and third prizes in the national excellent student selection exam; won first, second, and third prizes in the national science and technology competition and graduated from high school, whose high school exam combination/subject results used for admission registration meet the input quality assurance criteria prescribed by VNU.
b) Quota: Unlimited quantity.

6. High quality training program:After being admitted and enrolled, candidates have the opportunity to be directly admitted, given priority for admission and admission to high-quality training programs in the fields of Management Science, History, Linguistics, Psychology, Philosophy and Literature if they meet the requirements set by the School. Students are supported with a budget of 7.5 million VND/year, and are supported with English tuition fees to achieve at least Level 4 (B2) according to the 6-level foreign language proficiency framework for Vietnam. Graduates receive a high-quality bachelor's degree.
7. Training two training programs at the same time (dual degree):
After completing the first year, full-time students of standard training programs have the opportunity to study a second major in one of the following majors:
– Journalism, Oriental Studies (Korean Studies major, Japanese Studies major), Management Science, Tourism and Travel Services Management, International Studies and Psychology of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
– English Language Department, Chinese Language Department of University of Foreign Languages.
– Faculty of Law – VNU.
Students who complete the training programs of both majors will receive two regular bachelor's degrees.
8.The University of Social Sciences and Humanities does not have a special training program for visually impaired or hearing impaired students.
9.Students can register to stay in the dormitory if needed.
