The urbanization process and the development of industrial zones in Vietnam have created both opportunities and challenges for various population groups, including ethnic minorities. To identify the current situation and propose solutions to gradually improve the quality of life for ethnic minorities in urban and industrial areas, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, is organizing the workshop: “The lives of ethnic minorities in urban and industrial areas: Some theoretical and practical issues in Vietnam."
1. Content:The workshop focused on discussing the following key issues:1) 1) Theoretical issues concerning the lives of ethnic minorities in urban and industrial areas; 2) The current situation and challenges regarding the lives of ethnic minorities in urban and industrial areas (employment, income, credit, housing, education and quality of human resources, health, culture and spirituality, social vices, social capital and social integration, etc.); 3)Proposing solutions to improve the quality of life for ethnic minority communities.at theurban areas and industrial zones.

3. TimeThe workshop is scheduled to be held for one day in October 2016.
