Announcement of VNU on proposed science and technology tasks at VNU level in 2025 (2nd batch)

In order to continue to carry out its pioneering mission in science and technology (S&T) development, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) implements a strategic and focused investment policy to promote and develop strong research groups and excellent scientists through S&T tasks at VNU level; contributing to the goal of VNU being ranked in the top 500 universities in the world in the spirit of Resolution 45-NQ/TW dated November 24, 2023 of the 13th Party Central Committee on continuing to build and promote the role of intellectuals to meet the requirements of rapid and sustainable national development in the new period. Implementing the S&T and innovation plan for 2025, VNU announces and requests units and scientists to propose S&T tasks for 2025 (phase 2) with the following contents:
1. Priority orientation
1.1. Priority areas
VNU prioritizes interdisciplinary, cross-disciplinary tasks, cooperation between research groups/units within VNU; proposals with research cooperation with foreign professors, aiming at top international publications/with the ability to transfer, commercialize intellectual property, connect businesses/localities, and are long-term; prioritizes proposals in areas of key science and technology programs including:
(1) The task belongs to the Program "Research, design and manufacture of new generation chips and smart devices, contributing to promoting industrial development in a modern direction" (Issued under Decision No. 2300/QD-VNU dated June 30, 2023 of VNU).
(2) Tasks under the Program "Research and application of science and technology to improve the capacity of diagnosis and treatment of diseases and development of products from medicinal herbs at VNU" (Issued under Decision 2301/QD-VNU dated June 30, 2023 of VNU).
(3) Tasks under the Program "Science and Technology to serve investment attraction and socio-economic development of coastal provinces" (Issued under Decision 2421/QD-VNU dated July 19, 2022 of VNU).
(4) Tasks under the Program "Research and transfer of solutions and models for developing cultural and creative industries in Hanoi and some localities" (Issued under Decision 2556/QD-VNU dated June 12, 2024 of VNU).
(5) Tasks under the Program "Synthetic Biology for Green Growth and Community Health Improvement" (Issued under Decision 2557/QD VNU dated June 12, 2024 of VNU).
(6) Tasks under the Program "Research and propose solutions to promote Vietnam's innovative economic development towards sustainable development goals" (Issued under Decision 2568/QD-VNU dated June 12, 2024 of VNU).
(7) Tasks under the Program "Ethnic cultural resources and policies of Vietnam in the context of integration and development" (Issued under Decision 2576/QD-VNU dated June 12, 2024 of VNU).
(8) Tasks under the Program "Developing research and application of Pelletron for sustainable development" (Issued under Decision 2577/QD VNU dated June 12, 2024 of VNU).

1.2. Priority subjects
- Key research groups/Laboratories/Research Centers, playing a pivotal role in priority areas of VNU, have proposals to closely combine scientific research and training of high-quality human resources.
- Young scientists (under 40 years old) who have not yet chaired a science and technology task at VNU level or scientists who have registered to participate in the Project of excellent scientists and research groups of VNU according to 3 directions: Potential/Excellent at VNU level/International standards.
2. Implementation organization:
Units and scientists submit proposals (according to form 01/KHCN of Regulation 3149/QD-DHQGHN dated September 20, 2022 of VNU) on the software system.http://hrm.vnu.edu.vnand the unit's Official Dispatch with the list and proposal form sent to VNU (via eoffice)before December 23, 2024.
