1. Purpose and objects of the test:
VNU Tests is a cross-sectional test, each foreign language includes 03 independent tests, focusing on assessing 03 levels of foreign language proficiency: Level 3 (B1); Level 4 (B2); Level 5 (C1) according to the 6-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework for Vietnam. The test is used for the following 02 purposes:
(1) Review foreign language output standards for students in VNU;
(2) Consider foreign language entrance standards for candidates wishing to take the exam/apply for admission to the master's training program at VNU.
2. VNU Tests system:
The VNU Tests system evaluates 10 foreign languages currently taught at VNU, including: English, French, Russian, Chinese, German, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Lao, and Arabic.
3. Format, Passing score and exam format:
- Reading, Listening, Writing tests: Written on paper
- Speaking test: Tested through direct interview
4. VNU Tests coordination process:
Units in VNU coordinate to organize VNU Tests to serve training work, in which the University of Languages and International Studies, VNU is responsible for organizing VNU Tests at the University of Languages and International Studies, VNU.
