On June 23, 2010, Professor Nguyen Van Khanh, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, attended the conference "Historical Lessons in the Process of National Unification and Experiences for South Korea" and was one of four scholars to present a paper at the conference.

On June 23, 2010, Professor Nguyen Van Khanh, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, attended the conference "Historical Lessons in the Process of National Unification and Experiences for South Korea" and was one of four scholars to present a paper at the conference.This was an international conference jointly organized by The Peace Foundation (South Korea) and the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (Germany) in Seoul, South Korea. The conference focused on discussions surrounding reports from scholars from historically divided countries that successfully achieved reunification: Germany, the Republic of Yemen, and Vietnam. Professor Nguyen Van Khanh's presentation was titled: "The Process of National Reunification in Vietnam: History and Experience." The presentation provided an overview of Vietnam's historical reunification process and focused on analyzing the lessons learned from Vietnam's experience. The presentation received significant attention, discussion, and numerous specific questions from international scholars, particularly those from South Korea, aiming to draw lessons for South Korea's reunification process. Commenting on Professor Nguyen Van Khanh's presentation, Mr. Pomnyun Sunim, Chairman of the Peace Foundation, stated: "Each country and each historical circumstance has its own unique characteristics, but the process of national reunification in Vietnam has clearly left invaluable lessons for Korea. Among those lessons, the most important is the need to respect the aspirations and will of the people."

Earlier, on the afternoon of June 22nd, Professor Nguyen Van Khanh visited the Peace Foundation headquarters and met with Director Yoon Yeo-joon. The two sides exchanged views on several professional issues related to historical and cultural research, emphasizing the possibility of conducting joint and comparative studies on the process of national unification throughout history. Professor Nguyen Van Khanh also held sideline meetings with representatives from several foundations, research institutes, and international organizations such as the Asian Cultural Exchange Foundation (ACEF), the Joint Volunteers International (JTS), and the Korea Institute for Strategic Studies (KIFS)... to strengthen and expand cooperation with international partners.
