The ceremony was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lai Quoc Khanh – Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh – Head of the Political and Student Affairs Department of the University of Natural Sciences, along with all the soldiers of the Self-Defense Platoon of the two universities.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Lai Quoc Khanh affirmed the importance and pivotal role of the militia and self-defense forces in ensuring national defense and security, leveraging their strength and intellect to fulfill their duties to the people and the Fatherland, and contributing to political and national defense security activities. Vice Rector Lai Quoc Khanh emphasized the high responsibility of diligently completing the training course, adhering to regulations and discipline in learning and training, ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment, and striving for high achievements in the final examination. Through annual training sessions, the core militia and self-defense forces of the two schools have strengthened their ideology, promoted important political spirit, gained new knowledge and awareness of national defense and security, and acquired additional combat skills from professional officers.
Accordingly, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh also noted that the soldiers participating in this training session need to maintain their health and ensure they successfully complete the outdoor training exercises under rather harsh weather conditions. In addition, during the training period, absolute safety must be ensured for personnel and equipment, as well as safety while participating in traffic on the roads.
According to the training plan approved by the Thanh Xuan District Military Command, the training session will take place over 9 days (from August 3rd, 2023 to August 11th, 2023), with the following contents: drill and ceremony; chemical defense (chemical weapons, biological weapons, mines, grenades, etc.); weapon disassembly and assembly; military medicine, wound dressing. Theoretical content will be discussed in the auditorium, while practical content will be held on the grounds of the University of Science.
