The ceremony was attended by Associate Professor Dr. Lai Quoc Khanh - Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh - Head of the Department of Politics and Student Affairs of the University of Natural Sciences, along with all the soldiers in the Self-Defense Platoon of the two schools.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Lai Quoc Khanh affirmed the importance and core role of the militia and self-defense force in ensuring national defense and security, promoting their strength and intelligence to fulfill their duties to the people and the Fatherland, contributing to the protection of political security and national defense. Vice Principal Lai Quoc Khanh emphasized the great responsibility of seriously completing the training course, complying with regulations, studying and training routines, ensuring the safety of people and weapons, and striving to achieve high results in the final exam. Through annual training sessions, the core militia and self-defense force of the two schools is further strengthened in ideology, promoting important political spirit, awareness and new national defense and security knowledge, as well as being equipped with combat skills from professional officers.
Accordingly, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh also noted that soldiers participating in this training session need to maintain their health and ensure that they complete outdoor training well in harsh weather conditions. In addition, during the training period, it is necessary to absolutely ensure the safety of people and weapons, and safety when participating in traffic on the road.
According to the training plan approved by the Thanh Xuan District Military Command, the training will take place over 9 days (from August 3, 2023 to August 11, 2023), with the following contents: team command; chemical defense (chemical, biological weapons, mines, grenades, etc.); gun disassembly and assembly; military medicine, wound dressing. Theoretical content will be discussed in the hall, practical content will be organized in the yard of the University of Natural Sciences.
