About CYCU

Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) was founded in 1955, located in northern Taiwan, is a multidisciplinary university with modern teaching facilities. CYCU has 14 different majors and a government-funded R&D center in the field of Membrane Engineering. Currently, CYCU has about 15,000 students studying in 7 member schools: College of Basic Sciences, Engineering, Commerce, Design, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Education and Humanities, Law. CYCU trains in 29 graduate programs and 13 doctoral programs in 27 different departments.

Postgraduate training program for international students

CYCU offers 11 graduate programs including masters and doctoral degrees. The language of instruction is English. Programs include:

- Nano technology

- Chemical and materials technology

- Opto-mechatronics

- Microelectronics Engineering and Applications

- Teaching Chinese as a second language

- Management and international trade

- Microbiology

- Environmental engineering

- Biotechnology

- Industrial systems engineering

Scholarship opportunities at CYCU

CYCU offers a wide range of scholarships to international students to ensure that they have the financial means to complete their studies. Scholarship programs:

- Graduate Scholarship Program (DIGS)

+ Tuition and other fees are exempted. The scholarship is granted NT$6,000 per month for master's degree for two years; NT$8,000 per month for PhD for four years.

+ Free dormitory

+ Free 1 year Chinese language training course.

Students have the responsibility of working as teaching assistants and participating in research with Professors.

First year academic results will be the basis for granting scholarships for the following years.

Students may receive additional allowances for participating in research projects with Professors.

- Scholarship program for university students

+ First year: free tuition but students must pay other additional fees if any.

+ Following years: based on the student's academic performance in the first year, the school will consider whether to continue exempting tuition fees or not.

- Taiwan Government Scholarship
