11. Tóm tắt các kết quả mới của luận án:

- Mục đích nghiên cứu: Làm rõ thực trạng hợp tác Việt Nam - Malaysia về phân định biển từ năm 1982 - 2025, qua đó phân tích kết quả đạt được, hạn chế còn tồn tại, dự báo triển vọng và đưa ra một số khuyến nghị chính sách đối với Việt Nam.

- Đối tượng nghiên cứu: Tình hình hợp tác phân định biển giữa Việt Nam và Malaysia giai đoạn từ năm 1982 - 2025.

- Các phương pháp nghiên cứu:

Luận án vận dụng tổng hợp các phương pháp, trong đó chủ yếu là phương pháp nghiên cứu tài liệu, phân tích tổng hợp, so sánh đối chiếu; phương pháp phân tích chính sách đối ngoại; phương pháp thống kê; phương pháp phân tích diễn ngôn; phương pháp phân tích văn kiện; phương pháp dự báo; phương pháp điển cứu án lệ.

- Kết quả chính, đóng góp mới của luận án:

Thứ nhất, luận án đã hệ thống hóa và cung cấp những kiến thức cơ bản về phân định biển trong luật pháp quốc tế và thực tiễn hợp tác quốc tế; góp phần làm rõ tính đa dạng, đặc trưng của việc áp dụng luật pháp quốc tế trong hợp tác phân định biển giữa hai quốc gia, cụ thể với trường hợp của Việt Nam và Malaysia. 

Thứ hai, nhận diện và phân tích về những nhân tố tác động, mục tiêu của mỗi nước, làm rõ thực trạng hợp tác Việt Nam - Malaysia về phân định biển giai đoạn từ năm 1982 - 2025; góp phần làm phong phú thêm quan hệ hợp tác Việt Nam - Malaysia, nhất là trong giai đoạn 1982 - 2025. 

Thứ ba, thông qua phân tích thực trạng hợp tác phân định biển giữa Việt Nam - Malaysia từ năm 1982 - 2025, luận án đúc rút ra những đặc điểm, bài học kinh nghiệm trong hợp tác phân định biển giữa hai nước. 

Thứ tư, dự báo về triển vọng hợp tác Việt Nam - Malaysia về phân định biển và các khuyến nghị chính sách đối với Việt Nam.

Thứ năm, góp phần làm phong phú nguồn tư liệu tham khảo phục vụ hoạch định chính sách liên quan hợp tác đàm phán phân định biển nói chung từ những bài học hợp tác Việt Nam - Malaysia về phân định biển và công tác nghiên cứu, giảng dạy về quan hệ quốc tế ở khu vực Đông Nam Á, cũng như các nghiên cứu kết hợp liên ngành giữa quốc tế học, chính trị học và luật học.

- Purpose of the thesis: The thesis clarifies the current status of Vietnam - Malaysia cooperation on maritime delimitation from 1982 - 2025. On that basis, analyze the achieved results, forecast prospects and make some policy recommendations for Vietnam.

- Object of research of the thesis: Situation of maritime delimitation cooperation between Vietnam and Indonesia from 1982 - 2025.

- Methods: The thesis applies a synthesis of research methods, mainly document research method; synthesis analysis method; comparison method; foreign policy analysis method; statistical method; discourse method; forecasting method; case study method.

- New contributions of the thesis:

First of all, the thesis has systematized and provided basic knowledge on maritime delimitation in international law and international cooperation practices; contributing to clarifying the diversity and characteristics of the application of international law in maritime delimitation cooperation between the two countries, specifically in the case of Vietnam and Malaysia.

Second, the paper helps us identify and analyze the influencing factors and goals of each country, clarify the current status of Vietnam - Malaysia cooperation on maritime delimitation from 1982 to 2025; contributing to enriching the Vietnam - Malaysia cooperation relationship, especially in the period of 1982 to 2025.

Third, through analyzing the current status of maritime delimitation cooperation between Vietnam - Malaysia from 1982 to 2025, the thesis has drawn out the characteristics and lessons learned in maritime delimitation cooperation between the two countries.

Then, the research forecasts the situation in the East Sea, prospects for Vietnam-Malaysia cooperation on maritime delimitation and policy recommendations for Vietnam.

Last, the study results contribute to enriching the source of reference materials serving policy making related to cooperation in negotiating maritime delimitation in general from the lessons of Vietnam - Malaysia cooperation on maritime delimitation and research and teaching on international relations in the Southeast Asian region, as well as interdisciplinary research combining international studies, political science and law.
