The signing ceremony took place on January 21st at USSH.

Prof. Dr Nguyen Van Kim (USSH's Vice Rector, Director of the Center for Sea and Islands Studies) and Prof. Chung Hae Jo (Director of Institute for Global and Area Studies) exchange copies of MOU

Prof. Chung Hae Jo (Director of Institute for Global and Area Studies) said the Institute specializes in research areas related to oceanic studies and social sciences and humanities, which are relevant to the scope of activities of the Center for Sea and Islands Studies. Thus, there is much potential for future bilateral cooperation.

Prof.Dr Nguyen Van Kim said the ceremony is the result of long-term cooperation, trust and mutual understanding between the Vietnamese and South Korean researchers of both universities. Pukyong National University is famous for its sea and islands studies programs. Researchers of both universities can have their studies published in Pukyong National University's Journal of Area Studies and USSH's Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities. This cooperation would help USSH further strengthen its sea and islands studies, which is one of the focal points in USSH's research affairs.
