The Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities has just been upgraded in the list of scientific journals that are scored by the State Council of Professors.

On July 5, 2024, the State Council of Professors issued Decision No. 25/QD-HDGSNN approving the list of scientific journals that are scored in 2024. Accordingly, the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities under the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi has just been upgraded in the list of scientific journals that are scored by the Interdisciplinary Council of Professors of Philosophy - Political Science - Sociology (the highest score was increased from 0.75 to 1.0 points in 2024) and the Interdisciplinary Council of Professors of Culture - Arts - Sports (the highest score was increased from 0.5 to 0.75 points in 2024).
Up to now, the Journal has been included in the list of scientific journals that are scored by 08 Industry and Interdisciplinary Councils of Professors. In which, the Journal is scored at the highest level of 1.0 point in 06 fields, interdisciplinary: Educational Science; Linguistics; History - Archeology - Ethnology/Anthropology; Psychology; Philosophy - Political Science - Sociology; Literature. The Journal is scored at the highest level of 0.75 point in the interdisciplinary field of Culture - Arts - Sports. The Journal is scored at the lowest level of 0.5 point in the field of Law.

Established on August 31, 2015 (operation license No. 155/GP-BVHTT dated May 11, 2015 of the Ministry of Information and Communications, international standard code ISSN 2354-1172), the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities is the only official scientific publication of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, developing and inheriting the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities, Journal of Science, VNU.
The Journal is published periodically (04 issues in Vietnamese/year and 02 issues in English/year), with the task of publishing and introducing scientific research works on social sciences and humanities by authors who are scientists at home and abroad, serving teaching, learning and scientific research. The Editorial Board of the Journal currently includes 33 prestigious scientists at home and abroad. The Journal focuses on and prioritizes publishing articles in the direction of openness and creativity, quickly rising to approach and be on par with the leading prestigious journals in the region and the world. The main content of the Journal includes Research Articles (about 6000 to 15000 words), book reviews, scientific information (about 300 to 1500 words) presented according to the structure and standards of a scientific journal. The Journal's articles are currently cited by Google Scholar, WorldCat, Open Archives, Cosmos Impact Factor, Advanced Sciences Index, Scientific Indexing Services, CrossRef, EBSCO Information Services.
