Main research orientations

  • Basic research of theoretical and practical issues in the field of journalism-communication in Vietnam and the world.

  • Strategic research that provides academic evidence and basis for the Vietnamese Party and State to develop and plan their policies and lines.

  • Specialized orientations: Mass media culture, journalism-communication economics, journalism with the sea and islands, advertisement and public relations, social media, new media, etc.

  • Focused and contracted studies.

Research projects

  • Approved 12 research projects at VNU level (with good and excellent quality); 20 research projects at University level (with good and excellent quality); 01 research project at State level.

  • Conducting 01 research project at State level, 06 projects at VNU level, 01 project funded by Asia Foundation and other projects at University level along with other collaborative projects with domestic agencies and bodies.

  • Over 200 academic articles of SJC's lecturers have been published in scientific, theoretical and specialized journals and at domestic and foreign conferences.

Textbooks and monographs

SJC's lecturers have compiled over 23 textbooks and 30 lectures, over 30 monographs, translated over 15 non-Vietnamese journalism materials. Its published books systematically and thoroughly illustrate the core theoretical and practical issues of Vietnamese media today, such as Báo chí - Những vấn đề lý luận và thực tiễn (Journalism-Theoretial and practical issues) (9 volumes), Thời gian và Nhân chứng (Time and witnesses) (3 volumes), and Cơ sở lý luận báo chí truyền thông (Fundamentals of journalism and communication theories) (4 editions).
