Libraries provide users with a vast treasure trove of knowledge and information- and data-related services for learning, research, and entertainment. However, with the strong influx of information technology and artificial intelligence (AI), modern libraries have undergone dramatic changes. Many traditional library activities have disappeared. Information is digitized, identified, stored, and secured through barcodes, key cards, cloud computing, and biometrics. Information and library professionals not only organize and manage information resources but also must anticipate customer needs, advise on information processing, and know how to stimulate, create, and shape new information needs for users.
