- In theory: establishing the characteristics of travel writing from the perspective of cultural exchange and acculturation, paying attention to the influences of Western travel writing on Vietnamese travel writing in the first half of the 20th century. Specifically, the influence of romanticism in Western travel writing, the issue of the individual, the feminist perspective and realistic thinking in Western travel writing have influenced Vietnamese travel writing.

- In practice: Analyzing Vietnamese travel literature in the first half of the 20th century with the above theoretical perspectives allows for a more complete and comprehensive assessment of the position and significance of travel literature in the process of modernizing national literature in general in the first half of the 20th century, pointing out the interactive relationship of travel literature with the innovative concept of people and realistic thinking in modern literature.

The research results of the thesis can be used as reference material for many subjects interested in Vietnamese literature in general and travel literature in particular in the first half of the 20th century.
