11. Summary of project results:
Following research on the implementation of China's policies toward Vietnam, the trainees have completed the objectives and tasks of the project. A summary of some of the results is as follows:
- In Chapter 1, the author analyzed the concepts of "policy" and "policy implementation" from both theoretical and practical perspectives, focusing on China's policy towards Vietnam during the period 2017-2022. The author clarified the theoretical basis, including Marxism, Xi Jinping Thought, and geopolitical factors, while emphasizing Vietnam's strategic value in China's foreign policy. From this, an analytical framework for the implementation of China's policy towards Vietnam during 2017-2022 was derived, serving as a premise for the analysis in Chapter 2.
- In Chapter 2, the author points out that China considers Vietnam a crucial strategic partner with significant geopolitical value, simultaneously a cooperative partner and a competitor, and a priority in China's foreign policy. During the period 2017-2022, China promoted the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, increased high-level contacts, and signed numerous cooperation agreements, especially in economics, trade, and culture, aiming to increase Vietnam's influence and dependence on China. However, significant disagreements regarding sovereignty and a prevailing social distrust in Vietnam regarding China's actions persist. Based on this, the author offers several predictions and proposed solutions to contribute to a more substantive Vietnam-China relationship in the future.
12. Practical applications: The research results contribute to supplementing and providing a basis for analyzing the foreign policy strategies of China and Vietnam, serving as a reference document in the study of national defense and maritime security strategies, thereby developing models and solutions for protecting national security that are appropriate to the context and region.
13. Future Research Directions: In the future, the author will continue to conduct in-depth research on issues related to China's policy towards Vietnam, such as the impact of initiatives initiated by China, South China Sea security, and Vietnam's foreign policy strategy in the context of US-China competition. These research directions will help provide data, practical solutions, and new perspectives in shaping foreign policy and national development.
