10. Summary of thesis results:
The research results of the thesis show that the handmade vermicelli chains of households in Duong Lieu agricultural processing village exist in a complex network of social relationships, connecting the subjects together through relationships of kinship, neighbors, fellow countrymen, colleagues, etc., and intertwined with many connections within the village community, between the village community and neighboring village communities and in more distant areas. Although the vermicelli production activities of households in Duong Lieu have not yet applied many modern technologies and machines, and are facing many difficulties in production space and product quality standardization, there is still a smooth coordination in the vermicelli livelihood of households thanks to the social network of the craft village. The specific manifestations are that the handmade vermicelli production chains are operated and developed quite firmly based on the division of labor and cooperation in the process of preparing, producing and distributing vermicelli products. This network plays an important role in helping producers connect with suppliers of raw materials, workers, technology, financial capital, factories, etc. to carry out some stages or the entire vermicelli chain. By applying each household, social capital can become human capital, financial capital, and physical capital to serve a common purpose of ensuring household livelihoods. Through that, economic relations and social relations of households have been closely linked together. For many households, economic relations and social relations have become the foundation, helping them develop together. However, for some households, when their economy is not capable of supporting social capital to reach out or when they are too dependent on clustered, available social capital, it will also become a barrier to the development of the household economy in the context of Renovation and the market economy.
11. Practical applicability: apply and maximize the role of social capital to create other types of capital (human capital, financial capital, physical capital) to develop the livelihoods of suburban craft villages.
12. Further research directions: No plans yet.
13. Published works related to the thesis: None.

11. Summary of the findings of the thesis:
My MA thesis's findings show that there exists a complex network of social relations in the supply chains of handmade vermicelli of household in Duong Lieu village: the household are well linked through kinship, residential linkages, colleague relations, etc., and interweaved within village, throught intra-village inter-village connections and even further areas. Although modern technology and machinery have not been well applied in the production of vermicelli in Duong Lieu, and households still face various problems such as industrial production space and standardization of product quality, many households are capable to coordinate with each other quite efficiently in their handmade vermicelli livelihoods. These are manifested in the production division and cooperation during the entire process of preparation, production, and distribution of handmade vermicelli, thanks to social networks of craft households. These networks play a pivotal role, connecting producers with suppliers of input materials, workers, technology, financial capital, factories, etc. in order to carry out certain stages or the entire process of preparation, production, and distribution of handmade vermicelli. The households are able to transform their social capital into human capital, financial capital and physical capital to serve the ultimate purpose that is to secure their family livelihoods. Through this, economic relations and social relations are closely intertwined to promote the households' mutual benefits and win-win results. On the contrary, for those households, whose financial capital is too weak to support social capital or might be too dependent on an available narrow social capital, then became a barrier on their households' economic development in Vietnamese context of Doi Moi and market economy.
12. Practical applicability, if any: Maximizing the role of social capital to transform it into other types of capital (human capital, financial capital, physical capital) to develop livelihoods in peri-urban craft villages.
13. Further research directions, if any: No plan yet...................................................................
14. Thesis-related publications: None...................................................................................
