10. Summary of the thesis results:
The research findings of this thesis show that the handcrafted vermicelli production chains of households in Duong Lieu agricultural processing village exist within a complex social network, connecting stakeholders through kinship, neighborly relations, hometown ties, colleague relationships, etc., and intricately interwoven with many connections within the village community, between the village community and neighboring villages, and in more distant areas. Although the vermicelli production activities of households in Duong Lieu lack many applications of modern technology and machinery, and face numerous difficulties regarding production space and product quality standardization, the vermicelli production activities of households are still harmoniously coordinated thanks to the village's social network. Specifically, the handcrafted vermicelli production chains are quite robustly operated and developed based on the division of labor and cooperation in the preparation, production, and distribution of vermicelli products. This network plays a crucial role in connecting producers with suppliers of raw materials, labor, technology, financial capital, factories, etc., to carry out some or all stages of the vermicelli production chain. Through the application of each household, social capital can become human capital, financial capital, and physical capital to serve a common purpose: ensuring the household's livelihood. Through this, the economic and social relationships of households have become closely intertwined. For many households, economic and social relationships have become the foundation, helping them to develop together. However, for some households, when their economic capacity is insufficient to support the expansion of social capital or when they are overly dependent on localized, readily available social capital, it can become a barrier to the development of the household economy in the context of the Doi Moi (Renovation) and the market economy.
11. Practical application potential: Maximizing the role of social capital to create other types of capital (human capital, financial capital, physical capital) to develop livelihoods in suburban handicraft villages.
12. Future research directions: No plans yet.
13. Published works related to the thesis: None.

11. Summary of the findings of the thesis:
My MA thesis's findings show that there exists a complex network of social relations in the supply chains of handmade vermicelli of household in Duong Lieu village: the household are well linked through kinship, residential linkages, colleague relations, etc., and interweaved within village, throught intra-village inter-village connections and even further areas. Although modern technology and machinery have not been well applied in the production of vermicelli in Duong Lieu, and households still face various problems such as industrial production space and standardization of product quality, many households are capable to coordinate with each other quite efficiently in their handmade vermicelli livelihoods. These are manifested in the production division and cooperation during the entire process of preparation, production, and distribution of handmade vermicelli, thanks to social networks of craft households. These networks play a pivotal role, connecting producers with suppliers of input materials, workers, technology, financial capital, factories, etc. in order to carry out certain stages or the entire process of preparation, production, and distribution of handmade vermicelli. The households are able to transform their social capital into human capital, financial capital and physical capital to serve the ultimate purpose that is to secure their family livelihoods. Through this, economic relations and social relations are closely intertwined to promote the households' mutual benefits and win-win results. On the contrary, for those households, whose financial capital is too weak to support social capital or might be too dependent on an available narrow social capital, then became a barrier on their households' economic development in Vietnamese context of Doi Moi and market economy.
12. Practical applicability, if any: Maximizing the role of social capital to transform it into other types of capital (human capital, financial capital, physical capital) to develop livelihoods in peri-urban craft villages.
13. Further research directions, if any: No plan yet...................................................................
14. Thesis-related publications: None...................................................................................
