Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS) is a prestigious private research university in South Korea, founded in 1954. The school is known for its expertise in foreign language education – currently teaching more than 45 languages – and international humanities, social sciences, law, and economics. HUFS has two campuses: one in Seoul (where the main majors are concentrated in languages, culture, and social sciences) and a Global Campus in Yongin that expands the natural sciences, engineering, and many rare and specialized foreign languages. The graduate school at HUFS is particularly strong in the “International and Area Studies” program with majors in politics, economics, culture, international development, etc.
