Students in the Faculty of Literature are always provided with the best conditions to cultivate their professional knowledge as well as develop their ethics and physical fitness. Students attend book launches by writers and researchers, as well as participate in seminars and presentations to exchange professional knowledge with scholars, researchers, and professors from both within and outside the country. Here, students have the opportunity to learn and exchange professional knowledge in an open and constantly updated academic environment.
The scientific research movement among students of the Faculty of Literature has always been strong. The Faculty of Literature is one of the faculties that contributes to the student scientific research movement with high-quality professional reports. In the 2022-2023 academic year, the Faculty of Literature had 23 scientific reports. Of these, 6 reports won high awards and were selected to participate in the University-level Scientific Conference. After the University-level conference, 2 reports were selected to participate at the National University level.
Alongside fostering professional knowledge, the Faculty of Literature also pays special attention to the moral, physical, and mental development of its students. The Faculty has established clubs to provide a learning and exchange environment, such as the Folk Culture Club, the Film Club, and the Calligraphy Club. Simultaneously, the Faculty of Literature has continuously organized extracurricular activities related to its specialization, such as the annual Faculty of Literature Drama Night, poetry nights, traditional culture presentations, and film screenings for students. The Student Union and Student Association have organized numerous activities, including the "My Han Nom Writing Contest" to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Han Nom Department, film screenings and seminars with students from Beijing Foreign Studies University, the Grand Chess USSH 2023 intellectual sports competition (co-organized with the Faculty of History), essay writing contests, and volunteer and charitable activities both within and outside Hanoi. In particular, the Faculty of Literature also collaborates with external organizations to organize cultural activities that help students develop a greater awareness of preserving and developing the intangible cultural values of the nation, such as: cooperating with the Vietnam Cheo Theatre and the Hanoi Cultural Foundation in the 48-Hour Cheo Project to open experiential classes on Cheo, Xam, and Trau Van; organizing the folk music program "Hanoi's Thirty-Six Streets"; coordinating with the Department of Culture and Sports to organize the "Experiencing Vietnamese Intangible Cultural Heritage 2016" program, etc. These activities have created an interesting and beneficial learning and playing environment, providing opportunities for students of the Faculty of Literature to interact, learn actively, proactively, and creatively.
