The University of Social Sciences and Humanities strengthens its role in analyzing, evaluating, and improving ethnic policies.

Welcoming and working with the delegation were Comrade Le Van Dai – Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ta Dung commune; Comrade Phan Minh Tuan – Party Committee member, Deputy Head of the Party Building Department; Comrade Ho Anh Tu – Party Committee member, Head of the Culture and Social Affairs Department. Also attending the meeting were Comrade Le Sy Hung and Comrade Do Nhu Phuong – Deputy Heads of the Culture and Social Affairs Department; Comrade Nguyen Dinh Phu – Deputy Head of the Economic Department; Comrade Le Minh Nhat – Deputy Commander of the Commune Military Command, along with officials from the Culture and Social Affairs Department and the Economic Department of Ta Dung commune.

In an open and collaborative atmosphere, delegates reviewed the achievements made over more than two decades of implementing Resolution No. 24-NQ/TW of the Politburo on ethnic affairs, while also discussing new requirements arising from the current development context. The discussions focused on the impact of administrative unit restructuring, the development process of ethnic minority and mountainous regions, and the need for innovative governance thinking to enhance the effectiveness of ethnic policies in the new era.

The survey in Ta Dung commune is particularly significant as it was established based on the reorganization of commune-level administrative units according to Resolution No. 1671/NQ-UBTVQH15 dated June 16, 2025, of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly. The commune has a natural area of ​​53,133.28 hectares, comprising 8 villages with 4,493 households and 24,374 inhabitants. As a mountainous area with a large geographical scope, the population is not concentrated, and transportation conditions in some areas remain difficult. Ta Dung currently has 21 ethnic groups living together, with ethnic minorities accounting for 81.25% of the population. These characteristics create an important practical context for researching and evaluating the implementation of ethnic policies as well as the requirements for the new development phase.

This survey is part of a series of practical research activities conducted by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to provide a scientific and practical basis for summarizing and evaluating ethnic policies. The research results will contribute to refining scientific arguments, enhancing the University's role as a research and policy advisory center for the Party and State, and contributing to the process of reforming and improving ethnic policies and guidelines, meeting the requirements of national development in the new era.
